[VIS] Re: A new inner-city stadium is one of a raft of big ticket projects on the government's agenda this year.

The bridge in Port Augusta, Gawler Line Electrification Stage 2 to Gawler and Regency to Pym were all funded in Labor's last budget for 2017/18.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

Also, while we're at it, may I put my hand up for modern fast loading 3 door buses. We had 3 door loading in the days of bus conductors, and European (outside the UK) practice is pretty much 100% low floor, 3 door loading for non-artics, and up to 5 doors for artics. These modern buses load and unl...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

There are no more buses from the 80s... They should not be on the road more than 25 years, making the oldest bus from 1995. All buses are now air-conditioned and 98% are wheelchair accessible.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

I think any serious discussion for the potential rerouting of the Grange Line to West Lakes, if it is at all feasible, should be reserved for when discussions surface over the electrification of the Outer Harbor Line. But in the meantime it should definitely not be closed nor be held to ransom by c...

[COM] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b

The original Northern Connector proposal included a railway in the median which will divert freight trains away from the Salisbury Town Centre area Oh yes. Why was this scrapped in the first place? I read about the reason for changing from in the median to on the western side of the corridor but co...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Or they could just leave it as it is. Why try to fix something that is not particularly broken (there are minor issues, but they can be fixed internally without too much of an issue). If the tram service was in chaos then, sure, outsource operations, but I don't understand what they are trying to f...

[APP] Re: PRO: Coles Norwood Redevelopment | 8 Lvls

Anyone have the plans (a link) for this development now that it has been approved? Cheers P.S. Anyone know whether some of the trees to be removed can be replanted. I'm referring to the plane trees. Here's the link: https://www.saplanningcommission.sa.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0014/624101/2.2.3...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

The Gawler line is 42km long and the Seaford line is 36km, I don't see why people are calling for a third track on the Gawler line and not the Seaford line. Both don't need a third line, what they need is regular services and an underground city tunnel linking the two up. The Gawler line also has n...

Re: SA Economy

A lot of people are moving to Tasmania for the better air quality and lower temperatures, I guess you could call them climate refugees. They might also prefer the slower pace of Hobart and Launceston compared to Melbourne or Sydney. I don't think people are moving there for jobs unless it's in touri...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Dry Creek Station used to be used like that. I assume it was a hangover from trains to Northfield being interleaved with the ones from Gawler. There was a third track to facilitate the transfers. It may even have had island platforms both sides so transfers either way could be straight across. Just...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

That analysis is fine in theory, but in reality it is a lot more complex. There is also the annoyance factor, people for some reason prefer to catch express services over all stop services even if there is a longer wait for departure. For example, I have seen people catch a later express train than ...
