I had this problem last year - I think with an iPhone the key is to "square" the photo in the editing bit on your phone and then post and then they should appear the right way up.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

The 3000 class- yes they are diesel trains but they are good trains. The majority were built in the 1990s- they were released progressively from 1987 to 1996. I remember as a kid waiting for the train at Munno Para and hoping we'd get either a "New Train" (the 3000 class) or "Jumbo&qu...

Thanks Ben - that's an amazing pic. Really shows how dominant Kodo will be in the area and how it and other buildings will compete with Westpac House on the skyline.

Easily pleased. It's hard to hate a building which is ostensibly a visual continuation of the law courts building. Unless you hate that too, then go nuts  I haven't had a chance to see this in the flesh. But in photos taken on overcast days the concrete western side looks more interesting than...

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

Thanks Norman - I'm trying to work out if these are concrete flagstones or more higher quality slate / granite pavers like where Bank Street meets North Terrace?

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Network

Can anyone actually confirm that we are going to receive the $220 milllion from the Feds for the completion of the Gawler line electrification, as in is it in the forward estimates, or is it just a future unaccounted for promise?

Re: parts of North Tce streetscape affected by tram works, I messaged Adelaide City Council about the state of the pavements and trees on the southern side. The temporary bitumen will be replaced with slate again soon and they are working with the State Government to reinstate mature trees along tho...

The flaps in Topham Mall are being removed.
Thanks Norman - does that mean the vines have grown sufficiently to start covering the top of the structure? Or have they just given up on the flappy things?

Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport

Quite a good article about the new train timetables in yesterday's - 11 April - InDaily. Like most on here I suppprted the continuation of the Weatherill Government but new transport minister Stephan Knoll does seem to at least be open minded about trying new things- he even states that the new gove...

[COM] Re: Adelaidean | 11 Frome Street | 135m | 37 Levels | Mixed Use | New tallest

So once both are comleted: Which will be tallest (above ground level)? Which will be highest (above AHD/sea level)? It seems like there is an incentive, for however little time, for the one that is not the final answer to those questions to hold the title, even if only for a week. Above ground leve...

Re: 2018 South Australian State Election

Pre-poll votes tend to be cast by people who are older, retirees and will be on holiday on polling day, or people working overseas or interstate, on the day of the actual election - broad generalisation here, but those people in a seat with the demographics of Adelaide would tend to be fairly secure...

The great thing about this forum is that there's usually two types of strands - modern development good vs retention of heritage good. That's a big generalisation so please don't have too much of a go at me about that sentence (!) but as others have said it makes this forum interesting and thought p...

Without wishing to worry too much does anyone "in the know" have any idea if the proposed 118m tower at 269 North Terrace will have any impact on the timeline of this project? It will alter the north east view for many either staying or residing in The Adelaidean. In hundreds of cites wher...

I know a lot of effort goes into designing these types of buildings and also there's budgets to adhere to but you can't help but wonder why they couldn't have whacked on another meter or so just to be on the safe side in terms of Adelaide's tallest - even if just temporarily lol
