Re: SA Economy

That's true as abc the troll says above, S.A still has the slowest population growth rate of the 5 mainland states. The reason we ranked first is because the growth rate of 1.67% is way above our decade average of around 0.9%. Good to see we are getting a larger share of migrants.

Re: The SA Politics Thread

The Premier of South Australia doesn't even get paid that much from what i've read. Having said that, the top public servants get paid more than that anyways. Weird, yes.

Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD

Therein lies the problem of apartments in Australia... they are perceived as being sub-par as compared to landed houses. And maybe that is at least partially justified with some of the quality issues seen interstate, which has seen entire buildings deemed unlivable. Agree the offering overseas is s...

Yep, agree with the sentiment here. Such a waste of a prime site. I've said it before i'm surprised there aren't more apartments built at Glenelg as they always sell like hot cakes. I imagine the issue is sites don't become available that often.

Re: The Housing Crisis

I really do find this continual price rise over the past 20+ years as perplexing. I mean, I do understand the factors at play........ but I would always think that house prices would plateau at the point where the general population can no longer afford to pay more, but this simply hasn't been the c...

Re: The Housing Crisis

To me, the biggest mistake ever made was the introduction of negative gearing tax laws during the 80's. To turn a necessity like housing into an investment strategy was dire. I do believe Paul Keating tried to reverse it soon after it was introduced but then back-tracked on that almost immediately. ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

From a couple random articles i've read over recent years, modern aircraft are much less disruptive to residents living close to airports..... as in, they are able to ascend and descend at steeper angles compared to older planes. I'm sure the engines are probably quieter also. So what i'm trying to ...
