Re: #Official Mining Thread
The disappointing thing about mining in this state is their hasn't been many large scale projects get the go ahead. ODX is still on hold and be only likely large scale mine to go ahead that I can see happening is Carapateena ($2b+ 1500+ jobs) which won't even begin construction till 2017-8. Hillside...

They did not even mention it in their financial reports. It's way off. They use this to keep retailers living in hope.Ben wrote:According to todays Westfield results this development is not planned to start this financial year.

I can't help but feel they have ruined our perfect airport a little bit. The new set up is confusing and looks a bit fugly ATM.

Westfield also doesn't own 100% of West Lakes. I think it's something like 60% owned by them? Obviously they manage it though

I still find it hard to believe such large scale developements are going ahead. Retail sales for oct & nov were down. 2012 retail sales growth was below inflation. Add in population growth and it was another disasterous year. A report out by DB listed commercial retail property in Australia as o...

Re: The SA Politics Thread
We are edgeing closer to financial disaster by the day. SA's revenue raisings abilities are almost completely exhausted (current taxes and fines are all nearly highest in the country, despite being one of the least economically strong). The economic strength of SA is where? A large percentage of our...

having worked near both the Pigs & the malls ball, I can honestly say that the pigs are a bigger attraction. People find them funny, kids jump on them & everyone talks about them. They are different & they do their job.

South Australia will be in recession within 12 months, thats the call. Labor will be annihilated when the fall out of all this happens. They aren't going to meet their surplus, not a chance in hell. The state finances are now ruined. We have the highest state taxes and now the worst credit rating o...

Why should Snellings head be on the block? Since it's obvious you are referring to ODX(which has nothing to do with the new hospital) Is he somehow responsible for BHP deciding to not go ahead with their current expansion plans for OD? What BHP wanted, what the state gov. wanted, was for OD to be e...

I've read from a few people recently that the new cards are extremely easy to hack? That is to put fake 'credit' on the cards.

This: Sorry, and I don't mean to offend you, but the argument that we can't afford it therefore shouldn't build it because it will put us into debt is irrelevant. It is costing 1.7 billion in todays dollars. Do you think the state will ever have 1.7 billion dollars sitting around to spare that it c...
