[CAN] Re: #APP: Spire Living | 107m | 37lvls | Residential

I have to say I did expect more considering the amount of time it took and I think the older design was far superior, but it does look very sleek and will be a welcome addition to the skyline. I love the lantern on top of the building. Then again, this building has the possibility to look quite blan...

Re: Adelaide to lose last CBD cinema complex

Hindley street Greater Union is a hole and has been for years. I'm surprised it's survived this long to be frank. Bring back Hoyts in Rundle Mall..what was it, in Regent Arcade? Every time I think of the Hoyts Regent Cinema a tear wells up in my eye. What a grand place that was. Does anyone know if...

Re: How do we lose the 'boring & dull' stereotype?

I'm also against the theme park idea. It's such a done and dusted concept. "We need to boost our tourism, let's just slap a theme park here". Surely we have more class than that.

Of course the council is bloody against both of the proposals  the boring old sods. I can't wait for all these pre existing development applications to go through so we dont have to hear about them anymore. Back to the proposal at hand. The first one is gorgeous but damn that second one!!! I t...

[COM] Re: #U/C: North Terrace | Streetscape Upgrade Stage 2

Absolutely disgraceful! The ACC are treating what should be our Champs Élysées as a nondescript back alley. This is supposed to be a grand boulevard to showcase our city! And look at it. It's in shambles! The front of the Brookman Building has been like this for nearly 2 years now and if that wasn't...

Re: How do we lose the 'boring & dull' stereotype?

^^^It would be great if they decided to rebuild the Exhibition Building as our 175th birthday gift! I was just thinking about that this afternoon! I was driving down North Terrace and I took a long hard look at the useless, horrid concrete wasteland and the 'too ugly for words' Napier Building grac...

Re: How do we lose the 'boring & dull' stereotype?

All great ideas everyone. I for one am sick to death of the comments that 'Adelaide isn't going anywhere' when clearly it is. Look at this forum for starters? The Brisbane forum has come to a complete halt, and now with a couple buildings under construction, nothing else is happening really, while t...

I love the look of this building. It's modern and eyecatching. I wholeheartedly agree that quality is much more important than quantity, but doesn't anyone else notice the trend that many of the new buildings 4 storeys and below around the city are of superior quality of design (UniSA buildings, Adv...

Re: Victoria Square Visions

Nooo more carparks please! But I have to say I am impressed with this design. Even though the render of the tower looks like more of a 1950s vision of what 1995 might look like, the nature of it sounds fantastic, with a restaurant, observation deck, etc. It probably needs to be quite a bit taller fo...

Re: #U/C: [ City Central ] Masterplan Thread

After seeing the concept plan I still have faith in this development. Towers D, E and G have sooo much potential that I hope is realised, tower E especially. I'm hoping 40 stories! :D On the other hand, If they screw this opportunity up I will be very very

This is absolutely amazing! My heart skipped a beat when I saw my house. Incredible. It kinda sucks though because the garage door was opening as the photos were taken. What are the chances of that happening! Ahh well. I'm still in awe.

[U/C] Re: #Approved: 57-69 Wyatt St - 64m, 17 lvl Mixed Use

7 levels in the CBD, what a joke. I wouldve expected developers to be pushing for taller buildings seeing the ACC has been stripped of its powers rather than chopping 10 floors off of them.
