Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD
ONE tenancy is even worse than what was being indicated. Absolutely appalling. How can they seriously call 240 apartments + 1 retail tenancy "mixed use"? The building is also supposed to have commercial office tenancy, and it looks like the entirety of that will be used for building manage...

E78 (outside RenewalSA's area) appears to have re-commenced after grinding to a halt when Felmeri Group collapsed. Been workers out there the past week getting ready for foundation pours. A couple of Buildtec banners up on the fencing, so assuming they have taken it over, but can't find any addition...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
I just struggle to understand the fascination with the idea of a tram to the airport though, diddly bopping down Henley beach road in a tram crammed with suitcases sounds horrible. I've used the tram in Portland to get to and from PDX, and it works fine. Just have the trams with a different interna...

I've asked that question as well. Whilst I don't love the idea of using parklands, it's better than the privately owned horses that already call Le Fevre Park home.wilkiebarkid wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2023 4:52 pmWhat about Le Fevre Park in North Adelaide? Plenty of space so that the horses can have a decent trot around the place.

Yes to North Adelaide (a "destination" in it's own right, cafes, pubs, beautiful old homes, future apartments etc) No to Prospect Rd (just a really ordinary suburban area, a bus is more than sufficient for public transport needs along Prospect Rd) Prospect Rd is a high street approaching ...

It's a hugely ambitious development in an area that doesn't offer a lot except the nearby schools. It also doesn't really fit in to the local area of very much low rise buildings. I wish them all the best though and hope to see it go ahead. It's only a 700m walk to the Central Market and Gouger St ...

I quite like the interiors. The main thing for me though is the layout of the centre, particularly the change rooms relative to the pools.
I agree about the outdoor pools. I prefer indoor pools even in summer, but I accept that they'll probably be popular with most for 4-5 months of the year.

Hearing chatter that the Sentinel development, the build-to-rent project on the lot bounded by Third St, Gibson St, Second St and Station Place, will significantly underdeliver on promised retail space. Despite having a requirement under the urban design guidelines, I've heard there'll only be a sma...

I believe the building was all rentals, entirely owned by Toplace, which collapsed into administration a few months ago and the owner became a fugitive.

Very much an unsolicited vision, but Architectus have done a concept for Thebarton (brewery site, but also extending to South Rd along the river, and down Port Rd to the Coke factory) as part of their Design Charrette. https://architectus.com.au/latest/charrette-15-designers-aim-to-redefine-and-rewi...

No, corner of Gibson and Third St (where V2 Fit currently are). Looks really good! Nice podium with the double level F&B tenancies, and will have views diagonally over Bowden Park. Only thing I'm not sure about is the parking stacker — maintenance on those can be a real drain on the strata budget.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Is there expected to be a new timetable in place soon now that all services are electric along the Gawler line? Yes, once all the active crossings have been turned on, because trains still have to crawl through those at 25km/h. Apparently this will be done by the end of the year. I really don't kno...
