[COM] Re: U/C: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment | 53,500 | $545m

When this idea was mooted years ago I thought it was a humongous waste of money and a second rate proposal to the alternative over the old rail yards. Now that it is finished though, I am so very impressed. From the superior viewing angles to the fantastic location and resonating design (without sou...

Re: The SA Politics Thread

So pretty much Liberal are using scare tactics and saying they have a 'plan' to 'fix' the state when no such plan exists... Sounds familiar :|

Re: The SA Politics Thread

I haven't seen the details of the announcement yet, but the treating us like idiots seems to be bipartisan, and considering the irresponsible tax cuts proposed by the Liberals, I think Labor could well get us back into surplus sooner. Meanwhile I've referred the Libs' lies about our interest bill t...

Re: The SA Politics Thread

On another (personally disturbing) note, I heard on the radio this morning that sportsbet has closed betting on the election predicting a liberal landslide... seems like its another win for the shallow, empty promises, non-truths and general political spin :(

Re: The SA Politics Thread

Rann was hell bent on doing the hospital, I doubt it wouldve mattered what any study/analysis/report said. It is important to note, however, that buildings have life spans (normally 50 years). I have no doubt that parts of the RAH wouldve been seeping all kinds of nasty toxins as well (this is a the...

The final stand was all lit up tonight. The main atrium is all visible from the street and looked very promising.

[SWP] Re: #PRO: Former RAH Site (Design Competition)

this is the problem with the largely two pronged political system, it's either a or b, depending on who gets voted in. Even if both ideas have equal merit as is the case here. One word, PETTY!

Slight similarities in the formal expressiveness with this and the IAC Building in New York by Frank Gehry.

[COM] Re: PRO: SkyCity Adelaide Casino Expansion | $300m

While this is good news for construction workers, and a time when we will need more work, I can't see any Adelaide Casino attracting OS high rollers, maybe some internationals skipping off from conferences at the convention centre but I suspect it will really just be another drain on local punters....
