Re: News & Discussion : New Restaurants, Bars & Night Clubs
Was in Adelaide for a few days - went to 2KW - VERY nice. Views are exceptional - back along NT and down KWS towards Nth Adelaide. I would not have known it was Adelaide except for the railway stn, parliament house and the playhouse. Impressed with 2KW as well. ADELAIDE - TOWARDS A GREATER CITY SKYL...

I would say this is the most Heritage considerate, creative and respectful development Adelaide has seen in a very long time. It's brilliant. Yes, there's a section of blank wall, but that is a very small criticism. I love it! Very nice!!! How far is it from Boehm? ADELAIDE - TOWARDS A GREATER CITY...

Tenders for this are in today's paper. How much more of a reality does putting out tenders make the project? More real than a project not going to tender. Glad this did not die. Still my favourite. Impact on KWS will match this site's name - sensational! If I add up rightly, we have 6 bldgs going u...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Do we have any idea what kind of timetable will be used with the new extension? will every second tram go east instead of west? How often will they go up to the Festival Center? Well I don't think that every second tram traveling east would be possible if the intersection as shown in the PDF linked...

[COM] Re: Torrens Junction Underpass
Very bland and unimaginative. Typical Adelaide though! We have a Scrooge government that always takes the cheap and nasty option. They should be selling the space above the station and having some office building and like already noted some retail, amenities possibly a food court. To service what?....

Re: Mount Gambier | Developments & News
Excellent to read that info Pistol. I come from MG (left 1961) and remember it like that every day. The place has an outstanding linear shopping and business area centre - I thought it had been mostly destroyed by the development on Penola Rd. I recently read it's ERP (estimated residential populati...

Very impressed. Good to see they included the MLC (?) bldg. A very disernable shift to high rise happening in Adelaide - a carry over from the eastern capitals with much scope for more of the same as tastes and preferences change. The tramlines will help greatly. Looking forward to seeing this done....

Re: Mount Gambier | Developments & News
Makes you wonder what has happened to MG to have people going over the border to shop. Nearest city of any size, Warrnambool (around 32000), is some distance away - much petrol cost. Portland is only about 10000 as is Hamilton - neither of which should have the pull of MG. Even in the 1950's, MG had...

Mono, I have lived in andor been to nearly every nsw town/city - hence my last post. To add to it Hutt St also reminds me of colonial style (older) NSW provincial city CBD's. NOTE - big towns in colonial term style and 'bush' understanding include the likes of Bathurst and Orange or even Wawick in Q...

Just to add re the of the area (historical). I never saw Hutt St in 12 yrs of living in Adelaide and finally went there 2 years ago - was struck by the large NSW provincial city look - hoped it would stay.

My first reaction was what a great idea - followed by it would have to be iconic and identifiable with Adelaide - carrying the essence of the city coupled with standout architecture. But what about finishing the Gawler line electrification?

IMHO they would be stupid to cut off possible electrification opportunities - esp. with more resi development out that way and the shipping development to come out near osborne - obviously dependent how much of the $50b investment actually eventuates. Plan for it! ADELAIDE - TOWARDS A GREATER CITY S...

Hope there's nothing negative inherent in that. This is my
my favourite at the moment. Will really give KWS sth a connection with the actual CBD and give a bigger continuous connection between the nth and sth. VERY nice sleek design.

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Netw
It seems the railways cop the blunt end of the deal again! How long is it now since the electrification was announced. You would have thought the detailed business case would have been sorted out long ago as the SA gov't had announced the electrification was going to begin soon (after a lengthy dela...

Re: Another widespread power outage in SA
And does anyone know how Arrium steelworks have fared out of this? Roxby Downs?? Effect on future heavy industry possibilities??? Does anyone know why there was no battery backup storage for the wind power generators (or do I have this wrong)? IMHO baseload needs addressing.
