Spoke with a worker this morning. Apparently no permanent crane will be used. He's unsure of the crane type to be used, but he said they are mobile and will recurringly arrive onsite when required.

Heritage or not those sorts of small dwellings don't belong in or around a CBD. They are limited to what can be done with them. I think we just have a situation where the city population is slowly growing. When certain areas without a corner shop hit critical mass then more convenient store/IGAs will appear.

And there should be reserved water-front land, closer to the Port Adelaide town centre, for a hi-rise hotel/resort. I realise it won't happen short-term, but plan for it, and start lobbying the big chains, now. You might get surprised. No risk of downside...
