DIT project page including video: https://dit.sa.gov.au/infrastructure/adelaide_aquatic_centre Project cost $130 million. No diving facilities, however, so will not replace the state centre at Marion. FyOu2v7acAAq98B.jpegFyOu2v9aEAA51K6.jpegFyOu2v6aYAAiPDY.jpeg The link does say there are diving fa...

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands
Call me a cynic, but why bother? The design is so-so, however at the end of the day this doesn't provide an outstanding centre... Better facilities than what's there, sure, but for starters it's nowhere near O'Connell Street which should have been the primary objective. IF not on the reasoning that ...

The Internode building: https://i.ibb.co/jvnrBzs/20230530-084816.jpg What is happening here? Are they demolishing it or fully rebuilding? Structurally two separate buildings, they’re being attached, refitted and re-glazed. With the sheer amount of work going into this one, it’s t might have been mo...

The Myer Centre in its original form, had it remained untouched and well maintained would have been charming. The moment they started meddling with the street level facade whilst letting the upper level facade deteriorate was the first sign that the centre needed a broader makeover. I don’t love thi...

Today we were advised that workstations have started to be installed and Services Australia will occupy Levels 2 to 10. There is still no comment on how everyone will fit, or the extent of any shortfall in space. We have until 30 June to get rid of all the old crap we don't want. Yikes. To what ext...

No doubt, the owners will seal the site and use it as car parking throughout the Central Market Arcade development, nice little cash cow for three years…

Don’t let Viny or HiTouch catch me saying this, but I wouldn’t have been mad if they had piled a few extra metres onto this one… 😉 Especially considering the tenants don’t appear to have enough space now. With the neighbouring office building to receive its own repurpose and facelift, this strip is ...

How is $600m a lot to spend? If anything $200m was nowhere near enough even as a projected price tag. No one would be saying the same if this were a contemporary gallery, which would cost the same (if not more)…

The same entitled idiots that hold a gun to the heads of the ACC over providing adequate parking for their infrequent visits to the CBD are the same entitled idiots that frequent Burnside Village for these sorts of stores citing "it's easier to park at Burnside" as their reason. Would be n...

Work is continuing on the 3 story rear car park. Also good news, earth works have started on the new private hospital next door at 203 Greenhill rd .picture later. The carpark will be complete by August (weather dependant), they've build three levels for the front half of the carpark and they're no...

The car park is yet to have had any changes made to its layout to accommodate the removal of the arcade building (which is plays a vital role in exiting traffic onto Gouger Street), so if demolition is imminent, they’re really cutting it down to the wire on that front.

The sheer breadth of our state’s collection would set us part. Is there somewhere that describes this collection? Google has not been my friend here. Does it have significant breadth and diversity to allow meaningful rotation, or is it just large? The vastness of it all is somewhat to hard to expla...

I would love to see a national indigenous cultures centre in Australia and preferrably Adelaide, but struggle to comprehend how a centre in Adelaide would put us "on the map" more so than centres listed interstate in the excellent article that gnrc_louis posted on 24/4. Perhaps time for a...
