A lot of people here like the mirrored glass. In the last pic taken by I Follow PAFC , you can see the reflection onto the InterContinental. When the sun is not overhead (now in summer) it should cast reflections onto the plaza. We'll have to wait and see how annoying this will turn out to be. Chee...

Re: SA Economy

Rev, in regards to your comment on starting a second city in Adelaide, I'd personally love to see it happen. If you Google 'Look North', back in 2017 at least, the state government and Renewal SA were planning on focusing on Elizabeth and turning it into a second major city in SA by 2030 with an emp...

Hopefully Elenberg Fraser gets picked to do another building in Adelaide, their work in Melbourne is absolutely insane!

One of the comments from the readers “ The buildings now are put up so badly with very poor quality supplies. They are not built to last, unlike the heritage buildings, and will need to be demolished in only a few years.” Is that why we’re having so much development because they are demolishing all...

The wood is likely some kind of membrane/weatherproofing layer. The internal wood is possibly used as a substrate for some kind of special internal lining that isn't plasterboard, such as acoustic paneling, which would make sense for this scenario being right next to the loud oval. This would be my ...

I took this photo yesterday. This is the first time I've looked at this building from this angle across the street. Never realised how gigantic it is standing right in front of it!

I completely disagree with your comments here. Firstly, the bulk of Adelaide's skyline (office and apartment buildings) are to the north of Victoria Square and even without any planning limitations of late we're still only gradually seeing that part of the city reach new heights and become more den...

I think it would be a shame to lose these cottages and they should at least be savoured as a feature for the new hotel.... BUT That article makes me want to slam my head on my desk. People worried about what raising the height limit to twenty stories would do to this part of the city. It is the main...

What about Johnny Farnham? He’s a notable omission
What notable connection to Adelaide does he have?
Also no Hilltop Hoods, and no Guy Sebastian?

Re: Skylines Outside of Australia

Tokyo 2017 - Tokyo is the most populous city in the world, with huge dense sprawl. The city has multiple CBDs with the more "suburban" areas largely made up of blocky concrete apartment buildings, while the wealthier areas appeared to have detached/semi detached residencies, usually on sma...

Hyatt hotel? What is this?
Not the Hyatt, that is going on Pirie St across from the Telstra Tower.

This is the next stage of the Flinders St Apartment builds. Currently there are three recent apartment buildings with the timber slats etc, with an empty (now piling) parcel next door
