Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Firstly there will be 3 (unused) trams coming from Madrid, due in October. Secondly with the new RAH there will be greater demand put on the existing tram service, because of this and the fact that this service connects with most City routes the Entertainment Centre to Glenelg service will largely re...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
There should be stops for both extensions just near the corner of North Terrace and King William Street to enable easier connection with the Glenelg tram(assuming the present route remains unchanged?) and also King William Road/King William Street buses..

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
On DTPI website(from last 2 years State Budget) Government plans to simplify the bus network with more direct faster Hi Frequency. Great in theory, but cannot see it happening for a long time or at all!

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
No-it was never intended that this stage would go onto East Terrace-it was always intended to terminate outside the old RAH.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Unfortunately as has been stated money (or lack of it) is the big problem. The Transport Department(and the Minister)were slack in not properly outlining their case to Canberra for funds for the Tramlink proposal.. They have now had to go back to the drawing board to make a fresh and more detailed s...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
There is more than just that occurring as the message states that "works will include the continuation of service locations and geotechnical investigations along King William Road and North Terrace".

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Work on the North Terrace Tram extension is due to start this month-no sign of any action yet? Wonder if it will be delayed? There's a similar length of new track being laid in Melbourne at the moment. It looks like taking 2-2.5 months all up. So, if the North Terrace extension starts early Septemb...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
It was announced in last Thursdays Budget -to be done in the 2017-2018 financial year. Actually the track from Angas Street wasn't done when the rest of the line was done in 2007-it is in a bad state and needs redoing.Llessur2002 wrote:So what's the deal with City South? Is that funded etc or is it still a dream?

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn
Banning cars will be impossible until they remove the multi-level car parks alongside it. Yeah impractical and probably not even necessary. The street just needs calming and prioritisng. The bus lanes were a good start although observance seems to have slipped over time. I think there is a huge dif...

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn
As I have said previously cars should be banned from using these 2 street between 7am and 7pm on weekdays and make them a bus transit-pedestrian mall--allow bikes ,taxis and commercial vehicles(except between 7am and 900am and 300pm and 600 pm).Maybe North terrace bus routes should then only use Gre...

Most of our rail stations are disgusting-makes us look like a 3rd world country! Not the way to go about enticing people to use Public Transport-in fact the opposite.

Re: News & Discussion: O-Bahn
This idea is common in Europe where Trams and buses operate in the centre of the road to use the same (Tram) stop.
