Re: Article: City Tram Track To Grow
... which is why i believe that the next phase should be a conversion of the port adelaide/grange line to light rail. They kill two birds with one stone that way.

Re: Article: City Tram Track To Grow
in terms of politics i reckon that commuter rail we be looked after in the budget immediately before the next election. Hamilton Smith etc are making ground on public transport and such an announcement will effectively silence them. Also remember that Rann and Co have that substantial report into el...

[PRO] Re: #Approved - Westfield Marion Expansion - $280 million
... except as you said none of those are owned by westfield. They have no problems with coming in, opening their own (a cinema?) and decimating the competetion. But my other point is that the trend in Australia (just like the US) is to make everything bigger. Westfield push the mega-mall concept, an...

[PRO] Re: #Approved - Westfield Marion Expansion - $280 million
Westfield have a history of creating massive, mega malls. Have you ever been to Parramatta or Bondi Junction? Then you will see what I mean :-) As for colonnades yeah i could see them acquiring and then I could see them applying their own style to it, particularly in terms of entertainment precincts...

[COM] Re: South Road Upgrade
Little bit offtopic but check out the video of a complete navigation of the sydney orbital motorway. Especially the tunnels, now that is some REAL road infrastructure (not they they dont have problems)

Re: Electrification and Resleepering of TransAdelaide Network
I know someone whos job it is to put spin on these sort of things... The thing about retaining the land is just spin, they would have done this anyway and it probably isn't actually costing anything whatsoever or even representing an action. Its a shame but what if you work out the cost per resident...

Re: Electrification and Resleepering of TransAdelaide Network
I think that although it would be fantastic for this to be in next years budget it is highly unlikely, due not only to spending on other infrastructure but mostly because the resleepering is a 4 year project. Expect planning over the next few years and a budget announcement towards the end of the re...

[COM] Re: $1.7bn plan to build a new RAH
PPP's almost always result in the property being returned to the government after a nominated period. I would be very suprised if this was any different.

Re: Upgrade of Adelaide Rail Network
Anyway.. back on (sorta) topic... The proposal to build 5 metro lines through Sydney is incredible http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/billions-for-metro-lines-in-asset-sale/2007/12/11/1197135463447.html Even if just the first comes through to fruition, it shows the planning and "big city attit...
