Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
Hi there, the Transport SA website doesn't have any info on the next stage but riding past Victoria Sq I noticed a lot going on. They have already excavated the area almost to Grote St and they were busy welding rails together that I dont think were there on Mon. They have also put up fencing in the...

Re: Underground CBD tunnels
Hi there, I have also read somewhere that there was a rail tunnel built from Adelaide Railway Station to the once Exhibition building at Adelaide Uni. The Exhibition building was bulldozed for that 1960s Economics tower thing (forgotten name of building). You can actually see the layout of the tunne...

Re: $4:10 for a single trip!!!
ah dont know where to post this, but on Fri night when I was riding my bicyle home I was stopped at the lights infront of Hilton Hotel at Victoria Sq. I just about fell over in disbelief because an old Volvo bus (the typical silver STA bus) went past with either route number 260 or 266, heading west...

Re: #Proposal - $260m Tram Line Extension to Port
I must admit that despite the Outer Harbor/Grange line being poorly used, changing the line into light rail is not a priority at the moment. What is a priority is to upgrade the train stations to a acceptable standard. Except for Woodville, every station along that line is a disgrace and they look l...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
Hey Froggy, how much you wanna bet that after the extension is complete, patronage will over double compared to what is was before the new trams were bought. I have no doubt it will. Again, you can't have an inportant transport thoroughfare ending on the city fringe! Not long now, ha!

Re: #Proposal - $260m Tram Line Extension to Port
Is the Port Adl/Enfield council on drugs. Im quite certain that the proposed extension to the Port is to use the existing Outer Harbour train line. The new concrete sleepers are easibly convertible to the tram guage, which is why that type of sleeper were put in. They are not going to use the middle...

Hi people. Dont know if this is the right thread, but I need some help in finding pictures for some friends in regard to the worst, worst, worst atrocity to ever happen in our city centre. Im 30 years old so I never saw it myself, but there was once arguably the grandest ever building seen in Adelai...

Finally something may happen with our train system. However being such a car dominated city and because it may cost 200-500 million dollars, can you just imagine how many boring letters to The Advertiser and talkback radio on how it should be spent on other things? Just look at the crap against the ...

Now I dont know anything about engineering, but has anyone else heard that the track curve from King William St into North Terrace will be laid onto a rubber matting/blocks to prevent the squealing and grinding of the wheels from the trams when they have sharp turns. Its meant to stop any noise (if ...

There are millions of children dying in Africa each year, there is a group of indigenous people accidently killing and injuring drivers in high speed chases, yet what are some people going to do Wednesday - protest against a simple 1.6km tram extension. It is so embarrasing to be a South Australian ...

Roll on November when the anti-tram people will be eating there words. How can anyone with any idea think a monorail should be built? Also does anyone know what happened in Auckland a few years ago. Like Adelaide's tram, their suburban train lines were unlinked and stopped well short of the city cen...

If anyones interested, petrol brain Rex Jory from anti-tram Advertiser has given us another email address to ridicule in their pathetic opposition to the extension. notrams@gmail.com Also, the lastest misinformation is the concern people are having over the axing of 'hundreds' of trees on Port Rd if...

I was given a anti tram pamphlet by the liberals with a email address to express disapproval of the tramline extension. Instead, lets give disapproval of the libera...
