Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

The issue in the Brisbane Myer Centre came down to discussions which involved moving Myer out of its current location and into a smaller relocated downsized store (with less foot traffic) within the same complex, which they did not want to agree to. Pushing Myer out was part of the strategy by the j...

Is it SA Health? Would much prefer one of the proposals closer to the RAH get up if so.
That would have been my first guess too. If so, I imagine that would put Charter Hall's "secret" development opposite the RAH or the Trinity City development in the front seat.

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

Yesterday the State Government put out a requirement for 20-25k m2 of office space in the CBD, which is a big space requirement which would support one of the existing or new 25 floor/100m minimum high office building proposals currently floating around. https://www.tenders.sa.gov.au/tender/view?id=...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Worth noting that a flight from Adelaide to Delhi was already trialled on a temporary basis in 2022 by Qantas. Adelaide was a stopover to Delhi from Melbourne and Sydney on outbound flights until the larger planes that could do that direct non-stop service were brought back into service.

[U/C] Re: Victoria Tower - 36 Grote Street | 123m | 35 levels | apartments

There are some serious problems in the Australian construction industry right now which are delaying the start of construction for many new builds. Rising labour and material costs combined with labour shortages are driving up the build costs and drawing out many project timeframes. It would not sur...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Incl. 115m Tower | $800 million

It's very much an open secret now that Walker intends on developing a second building that is considerably larger than the three level plaza building which was previously mooted. What will be interesting is how the completed basement car park structure will accommodate whatever new plan arises. If t...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

There should be space for a rail underpass below Cross Road and above the North South Motorway tunnels. The new motorway tunnels will still be fairly deep below ground at that location and the rail underpass would only need to be an excavated cut and cover construction.

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

I think the Southern tunnel of the North-South Motorway will be the fourth longest road tunnel in Australia after the M4-M8 and Rozelle Interchange (WestConnex) project in Sydney (33km across various continuous interconnected tunnels), NorthConnex (9km) and almost the same length as Brisbane's Airpo...

It's interesting how the animations have been put together for political purposes. The Anzac Highway animation shows the cars stopped on both the now removed off-ramp to Anzac Highway and along Anzac Highway itself.

Looks like it's a 15-level office building intended for both UniSA and SA Health, directly across North Terrace from SAHMRI on the site where Adelaide Riviera Hotel and an existing Health and Medical Clinic tenanted by UniSA are currently located.

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

I can't think of any big store that would be suitable for Rundle Place. I imagine the ground floor businesses wouldn't like the type of crowds it would bring in, but that first floor former Harris Scarfe space seems like it would be ideal for a bowling alley and arcade type of setup. I work in Rund...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

There are also operational limitations to running more services between Gawler and Gawler Central due to this section only having a single track. Running a 15 minute service would force quick turnarounds at Gawler Central and doesn't allow recovery from late running.
