Re: 2034 FIFA World Cup, 2026 AFC Womens Cup, 2029 World Club Cup

image_2023-08-06_122419421.png I wonder what the viewing distances would be at Adelaide Oval? I don't think we need to build a permanent 40,000+ seat rectangular stadium. It should be possible to build a 20,000~ capacity rectangular stadium, in a more suitable location then Hindmarsh, that can have...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

I doubt it's the new demands. Builders today still struggle for labour to build the houses, which is not helping their books after the huge lack of materials experienced over the last 3 years. It will take a while for the industry to get back to somewhat normal conditions.

Re: Thebarton Brewery Site Redevelopment

A small tram depot on the site would help the tram system in being able to manage the fleet, especially during partial closures of various parts of the line. It will also remove a lot of dead running around the system and allow the Botanic Line to have earlier services. Hopefully this development wi...

Re: Sir Donald Bradman Drv / Marion Rd Upgrade

SDB on the whole needs a refresh, it's embarrassing as Adelaide's main gateway from the city to the CBD when it's home to auto wreckers, car parks, run down blocks of flats, and run down houses with unkept gardens and vehicles out the front (I live in the area and see it every day). Reimagine it as...

Re: M1 South-Eastern Freeway

South-eastern freeway is an existing freeway. How awful to think SE Freeway would aspire to be like the inferior North-South Motorway. In what way is it inferior? Speed limit. Only in the urban sections. North of The Port River Expressway the speed limit is 110km/h. When I was making a comparison t...

Re: News & Discussion: The 30 Year Plan for Greater Adelaide

The next version of the 30-year plan is being prepared at the moment, which will probably be called the Greater Adelaide Regional Plan. A discussion paper has been released for consultation for the next 3 months. The Your SAy page can be found here: https://yoursay.sa.gov.au/greater-adelaide-discuss...

Re: M1 South-Eastern Freeway

This project is a part of the while South-eastern freeway becoming a Managed Motorway with additional technologies such as lane use management, incident detection and others. This will bring it in line with existing freeways like the North-South Motorway. South-eastern freeway is an existing freewa...

A much better outcome than just a massive supermarket. Hopefully the heights don't get watered down. This is where density is required.

Great to see this building being refurbished at this landmark location. I just wish it was actual apartments for sale rather than more serviced apartments.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

The challenge for those retail spaces in incorporating a supermarket would be how to deliver stock to the stores. Are there any road access points nearby that wouldn't need extensive demolition?

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Can they not expand up to the second level now? It's definitely on the too small side. Much more cramped than even the "local" style stores in Japan (when international stores are generally closer in format to the "flagship" style) and lacking in range particularly in the mens a...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Uniqlo is looking at opening a second store in Adelaide, most probably at Westfield Marion. The city store is very busy and they regret not going up to the second level which was apparently still under lease to Rebel Sport when they negotiated the lease. They may even consider moving to a new locati...
