[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Incl. 115m Tower | $800 million

So yes, they will be getting rid of the ramp in favour of stairs and lift. Sadly, it doesn't look like they're doing anything to the weird grassy tiered area, so the new stairs will still lead down to an unresolved space. I don't mind that bit - I always presumed it was a nod to the old amphitheater.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

There are definitely a couple of offices for DIT staff and the cleaners use the small door next to Platform 9 so I presume it's largely station/rail admin. There is a staff entrance for the Intercontinental next to the old phone booths on the other side. I'm not sure if the hotel actually has any st...

[U/C] Re: Port Adelaide Dock Spur Line

Yes I received an email from NRM and they will run red hens from Port Dock station on event days, with regular trains continuing to run, which is a great outcome for the museum. That's cool - I live close to the OH line and have enjoyed seeing the red hens in service when they have run in the past....

Thanks for the pics! I don't get down to Vic Square very often so it's been great to see this one go up. It's looking really good in my opinion.

Re: Merger of the Universities of Adelaide and South Australia

A joint statement was released by the Vice-Chancellors this morning: This is a significant moment in our shared histories with the passing of state legislation to establish a new Adelaide University. This represents one of the most important steps to date in realising our ambitious vision for a cont...

Might even be that something they are doing isn't within the WHS requirements and obviously wouldn't want that documented.
Doing things outside of WHS and what they are allowed to do isn't exactly uncommon with demolition companies.
Exactly what I was thinking too...

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

I guess it's about context too - taking a video from across the street is a bit different to being pushed up against the fencing taking close-up shots. I can't see any problem with the latter, the former I probably wouldn't do - despite being legal.

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

I've had the same thing happen to me whilst taking pictures of a building site for this forum - I guess at the end of the day I can appreciate why having a picture or video taken of yourself in your workplace might be annoying but you're perfectly within your rights to do so. I also feel that if dev...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

I finally had a chance to travel on one of the hybrid trains today. It was much quieter and the journey was a nicer experience because of it.

It's a thumbs up from me.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

Ah, I missed that - I thought it was only 3121/22. 3017 wasn't paired with 3009 yesterday, but with I think 3020 or thereabouts (I didn't make it that far up the platform and only saw it from a distance). Whatever it was it wasn't green-wrapped and I noticed that whilst 3017 had the green wrapping i...

Car 3017 has been green-wrapped too. They must be rolling it out to all the 3000 class as they are upgraded.
