I got the same email as Ben and thought it was weird.
I spoke to someone working on the project today and they said they understood it just had 1-2 levels of steel (roof framing) to go.
It looks too low - quite a few levels lower than Westpac - but why would they stop the core if it's going higher?

The student building next to Adelaidean hasn't stalled. Not sure where that information has come from.

Westpac is at 68m above sea level. Adelaidean is at 53m. That's a significant difference in height. I am fairly sure those numbers are not correct. The data I've seen has street level adjacent Westpac at approx 44mAHD and street level adjacent Adelaidean at approx 41mAHD. So only a few metres diffe...

Looking from around 10km away, the current crane height looks like it matches the top of the Westpac antennae, which is the same level as the RTCC. My theory (could be wrong) is that they've built up to current height in concrete and now getting everything in place for the crane to pop up above the ...

Does anyone know what floor level the building is currently at? The concrete core appears to have topped out. I know there is discussion about this on earlier pages suggesting the core would be reconfigured and continue upwards, but this doesn't appear to be happening on site. Surely the highest poi...

I agree with others - this is an absolute monstrosity.
I understand that student accommodation projects have tight budgets, but even so, what architect would be willing to put their name to this?
There has to be a limit and hopefully SCAP will draw a line in the sand on this one.

From the limited info that I have, there is a three month exception here. There is more height to go on this crane, the current crane height is close to the final finished height of the tower. So Kyren have been granted a 3-month permit to lift the RTCC? I've seen the crane permits for other sites ...

The top of the building is essentially at the RTCC, so I'm not sure how they'll complete the building without the crane breaching the RTCC. Would generally need 15-20m clearance between top of crane and top of building (for a hammerhead). Either they have a magic way of constructing the top of the b...

It's more because the CBD happens to be right under an emergency flight path from Adelaide Airport. The CBD does not otherwise impact Adelaide Airport business. It is more complex than any discussion on this forum. I have spent the last 18 months working through the airspace requirements in relatio...

Time the RTCC and PANS-OPS gets reviewed and amended. Remember the old Hong Kong Airport. Our Airport is no where near the CBD. Also the runway lines up with North Adelaide NOT Adelaide CBD. Hardly a skyscraper in North Adelaide. If the CBD height was a problem at Adelaide Airport - they should hav...

I'm interested in one aspect of this proposal: the proposed roof height is at RL176.6m AHD but the crane height application is for only RL178.8m AHD. So only 2.2m between top of roof and top of crane. The lowest hammerhead I'm aware of would need at least 16m between top of roof and top of crane. Do...

That said, it would be nice to see something noticeably bigger than Westpac proposed. What happened to "the vision formerly known as DOMINATOR 1"? I'm hopeful that CDJ would let us know if the project was dead, apparently it was in "pre-lodgement" in July last year. SA1 (as it i...
