Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Saw hybrid railcars 3121 and 3122 at the ARS this morning. Are they in revenue service or just testing? They haven't appeared in the GTFSR realtime feed so they could still be testing. So far I 've seen 3009, 3017, 3121 and another 31xx (3122?) in hybrid livery around Dry Creek depot in recent week...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
At Ovingham station, the southern active crossing is commissioned, yet the northern active crossing is still awaiting completion. The Northern active crossing was originally scheduled for commissioning in March but was delayed. It was operational in early June when I took a series of photos at the ...

Re: News & Discussion: Electricity Infrastructure
... if you want context maybe start with the fact these batteries generate zero electricity Correct - they don't generate electricity. They store it from times with excess generation to be released at times of excess demand. They also provide various kinds of technical modulation that had tradition...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Yes, once all the active crossings have been turned on, because trains still have to crawl through those at 25km/h. Apparently this will be done by the end of the year. I really don't know why it's taking this long to enable them! Commissioning of the active crossings requires modifications to the ...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Is there expected to be a new timetable in place soon now that all services are electric along the Gawler line? Yes, once all the active crossings have been turned on, because trains still have to crawl through those at 25km/h. Apparently this will be done by the end of the year. I really don't kno...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Not sure if its been mentioned anywhere but I noticed last week that the pedestrian crossing across the tracks behind North Adelaide Golf Course is still fenced off. This crossing was upgraded as part of the Gawler line works but still sits there unused. Anyone know why? The pedestrian crossing was...

Re: Sir Donald Bradman Drv / Marion Rd Upgrade
The so called sagging was mentioned by someone a few weeks ago in some thread on the forum, can't remember who. I pointed out that the bridge has been like that for well over a decade, in fact probably over 15 years and counting. But then again there was that report a few years back I think prior t...

Re: SA Economy
this logic is really special  the reason they steal it is because its scarce and has high resale value... and EV's are going to make it even scarcer you can recycle plastic too, but they're not stealing that Thank you. It's not that much harder to make new plastic than to recycle plastic, and...

Re: Commonwealth Games in Adelaide
I definitely agree with abc's anti-colonial sentiment, but would say the Olympics is heading in this direction as well. They are not economically feasible for most countries let alone cities. why are you misquoting my posts and adding your political views for an unrelated topic? I was summarizing t...

Have noticed this when driving over it, I’m the bridge would easily be 50 years old? I’m not sure the cost would be but might a tunnel might prove a better fit for this section of road.
I think it was built in the 90's
