[COM] Re: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment Thread - Now Includes Poll!
So, the point of all this isn't to say that you get nothing back, just that you don't get back all the money that you put in. The way to figure out how much to spend is to think of it as a gift: assume that you're not going to get this money back again, how much are you willing to spend? And then m...

http://xaragmata.cable.nu/album/adelaide/cbd/harris3/slides/IMG_6232.jpg What will become of that little laneway shown on that picture between Zu and Dusk? If I recall correctly it only goes halfway to Grenfell Street and then stops dead although to be honest I'm struggling to picture what it looks...

[COM] Re: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment Thread - Now Includes Poll!
The best thing for Adelaide in a very, very long time. Once again, it just goes to show the vocal minority do make a lot of noise but aren't at all reflective of the wider community. We'd be wise to remember that next time a few hundred people have a whinge. Hopsital, desal plant, trams, city stadiu...

Re: VIS: West Lakes urban renewal (Ex-AFL use of AAMI stadiu
50,000 capacity is fine. If people aren't happy, well they can start attending matches on a regular basis and supporting our sporting teams to create a case for further expansion and upgrades. And that's what it boils down to. Where is the justification to cater for the "what ifs" ? Agree...

Re: VIS: West Lakes urban renewal (Ex-AFL use of AAMI stadiu
It's not fanciful??? How do you ever expect Adelaide to host anything other than the AFL and Cricket at one major stadium when these two organisations pretty much have a monopoly on this one ground for 6 months each of the year??? The same way every other city in Australia manages. Schedule events ...

Re: VIS: West Lakes urban renewal (Ex-AFL use of AAMI stadiu
Looks good, though I thought AAMI was going to remain as a main football oval for SANFL and pre-season AFL matches?. Etc lower the ground capacity to 15,000. That would make more sense. Is a 15,000 capacity oval really necessary? There are probably 10 current and former SANFL ovals scattered around...

[COM] Re: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment - General Discussion Thread
I think the Liberals would be blowing a very different trumpet regarding AO if it was actually an enclosed 'roofed' stadium, much akin to the the stadiums of Liberal policies, past and present. That's funny. So a fully enclosed stadium, which adds little value, makes little sense and costs twice as...

I must say, I'm pretty bloody nervous about the outcome. I will definately be voting yes (first saca election I've taken part in in 8 years of membership). I hope they've already planned for this hurdle and will offer some sweeteners to members in a bid to entice them to vote yes. I'm a little worr...

so is that the "realease" mentioned yesterday? I thought we would get a bit more detail on WTF they have been doing for the last 6 months. Of course a lot more detail will be released than just a photo taken by a member of the media.  I meant that in a light hearted way but th...

I have to say, that model looks impressive, and yes spiller, those new stands would be massive. Seeing that makes me even more excited, although I am trying to contain my excitement knowing the conservative and closed minded will probably vote this down.

I don't know if use by other sports will definitely not be allowed, but it's a concern that no one seems to have suggested specifically that they will be able to use the oval. Of course other sports will be allowed to use the Oval provided they come to an arrangement with the stadium manager. Which...

On a tangent I didn't know people like that even lived in Adelaide, but good news all around. When I read the article on Adelaide Now I thought maybe it was an error. Then I come to this site and saw Howie's comment about him being a Gouger Street regular. I have to say I am surprised to hear of a ...

Seemingly the only thing that will stop it going ahead now is the SACA member vote. I'd assume there will be major carrots dangled to ensure the membership do vote yes, but you never know.cruel_world00 wrote:What are the chances of the full Oval redevelopment going ahead without the WC?
