Having a new multi-purpose stadium in the city would be a blessing to the CBD. Should happen but never will. That would be the best solution for the greater good of the state. But the SANFL will act in short term self interest and won't ever consider it. At least The Advertiser, amongst others, are...

Doesn't twin towers usually mean two?
Maybe these are Siamese twins then.

Right turns are outlawed during peak times as it is so I can't see why we even need them at all. It's not that hard to find alternative routes within Adelaide's grid system. The beauty of it is that traffic flow will be better with a tram lane and no right turns than how it is now, when people try t...

No point writing to those who are anti the tram extensions. Their minds aren't going to be changed by a letter. Just like those of us who are for this project aren't going to have our minds changed by those against it. The people against it aren't in decision making positions in any case. Any letter...

*Encourage or allow the boutiques and shops on Rundle street to remain open until 9:00pm every day. *There is a vacant space of land on the corner of Ebeneezer Place and Union Street - this space could be transformed into a speakers corner. *Encourage night time markets in the lanes that abbut from...

I imagine that the idea is for advertisers to pay for the signage, and it will be up to them how fancy or hi-tech that is, with the council simply providing the space. I wouldn't hold my breath expecting anything too fancy. But anything is a start. Times Square didn't develop into what it is today, ...

Adelaide too decentralised
The announcement that Adelaide is to have a new FINA standard aquatics centre, in Marion of all places, has inspired me to bring up this issue that has long frustrated me about Adelaide. Too many of Adelaide's premier venues/facilities are too far from the city centre. The proposed swimming centre i...

On this note whatever happened to the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, and the Adelaide Film Festival? Are they still happening? I think the Cabaret Festival still exists. And I know the Film Festival does. The Film Festival is held every second year, on alternative years to the Festival of Arts. http://...

I'd prefer events more arts based than sporting. That's the way Adelaide should go, I believe. Build on what we've got with our Arts Festival and Fringe and so on. The last few weeks have been brilliant. And they aren't one off like a Commonwealth Games. We had the Grand Prix. I'd love it if we stil...

I don't think that in this day and age you could just say 'ok, let's put a city right here in the middle of nowhere' and expect it to work. A city has to grow naturally. In my ideal world, Victor Harbor would be the second city (a couple hundred thousand people would do just nicely) to Adelaide. But...

I think Rundle Mall is a stupid place for the LED screen proposal anyway. Wouldn't one of our public squares be a more ideal place for it? That's what the squares should be for. Unfortunately people don't use the squares too much because they are poorly utilised. Victoria Square should be the place ...

So the Trams will be free to ride between North Terrace and Victoria Square once the extension is complete, hence replacing the CityFree 99B Beeline. I think they should take it one step further and make Tram travel free between North Terrace and South Terrace, Any comments? Seems a smart and logic...
