Apparently gas power stations use significantly less water and produce significantly less CO2 than coal power so this is a win-win.
Gas seems to have been forgotten in the whole renewables vs nuclear debate. Is there a severely limited supply of gas?

Outer suburban areas such as Nourlunga, Mt Barker, Elizabeth and Gawler should not be planned as an extension of Adelaide. They should be developed along the lines of strong regional centres with their own identities, city centres, services and transport networks. Link all of the centres together wi...

I completely disagree. North Adelaide is a very historical area, a simple walk through the streets will reveal how well preserved North Adelaide is. As a result development in North Adelaide should blend in with the neighbouring area. I feel this development fits in very well with the historic vibe...

The development remains stylish, elegant and classy. It will be a great addition to Adelaide. I am glad to see something finally happening but the design is appalling. It is horribly kitsch. We deserve better than a disneyland version of a european city. Adelaide is a young city we should embrace t...

I dont like either of the alternative routes proposed for the city loop. Traffic reliance in Adelaides CBD is just ridiculous and PT should be encouraged at all costs. Thats why if a tramline went down West Terrace I think they are using Gray St instead of West Tce for more reasons other than just ...

anyone know more on the proposed extension as per this diagram? http://www.transport.sa.gov.au/tramextension/images/HD/Aerial_Map.jpg ie, if/when the extension down currie - light sq - morphett - grote may happen? Pretty sure the govt is waiting til they have decided on the location for the new bui...

Not if you live in the southern or northern most suburbs! I challenge anyone to come up with a location that better suits both these areas than the current airport. Parafield would be a nightmare for Southern residents. Monarto would be a nightmare for both. The current location's only drawback is ...

Makris should pay for a decent architect, then he might have a chance. The last design was appallingly kitsch and did not relate to the site and adjacent streetscape. Why on earth were they using a kiwi architect firm? The site planning was wasteful. A good architect should be able to bring that amo...

Mt Barker isn't Robinson Crusoe with it's problems. Adelaide's suburban Fringe has the same problems.. The extension to Gawler will create the same problems. The growth south of nourlunga is screwed up. much of mawson lakes is poorly planned. Don't get me started on Golden Grove. Greater metropolita...

Tyler_Durden is onto something. Ampitheatre with back to Pulteney/Grenfell corner. Big screen above entrance to Cinemas all serviced by the pub and adjacent cafes. BTW kudos to Coopers Alehouse on Hurtle Sq for efforts with big screen at Rugby World Cup.

What a load of rubbish, Mt Barker isn't a PT planners nightmare its a town planners nightmare as Mt Barker was designed to be a little village, not a fast growing regional centre. In fact Mt Barker is nearly as old as Adelaide. The council has spent thousands on new footpaths and a walking/bicycle ...

Adelaide will only be able to afford a decent public transport system once we shrink the urban growth boundaries and make public transport a high priority amongst planners. Growth should be consolidated around the major centres, being: - Adelaide - Nourlunga - Marion - Port Adelaide - Salisbury - El...

littledyl16, you should consider yourself lucky. Theres only 1 bus service that goes to the city from Mount Barker, and it only goes every hour off-peak. So if your running late for the bus and you miss it, you have to wait a whole another hour for the next bus (this has happened to me so many time...
