Citation needed that it would be cheaper, given the vast amount of acquisition and demolition that would be required.

Re: Portrush Rd/South Eastern Freeway intersection discussion.

I have a copy of the MATS Plan at home and will try to draw out the route suggested back then. But basically, it was in the vicinity of Fullarton Road and then snaked eastward to join the existing SE Freeway corridor. Just done in Paint, but these corridors are quite accurate. I'd like to do this '...

[REJ] Re: Gawler Chambers Redevelopment | 70m | 16lvls | Office

I'm gonna go with Nathan and say I like this design. I think the fact that it's so different to the Gawler Chambers actually highlights the lovely old building, which is already several stories high and any higher would be inappropriate for it's style IMO. I also like the way the pods make the build...

Where the hell is that white wagon in the middle of the photo going? Looks like it's doing a right hand turn from the (incredibly wide) left lane.

[U/C] Re: Ovingham Level Crossing Removal | $231m

is the definition used by traffic managers and infrastructure planners the same as the definition used by a commuter who happens to decide to go to work at the same moment as 50 of their closest neighbours? Is a road "at capacity" if there's a 10-minute traffic delay at 0830 on school day...

[PRO] Re: Hahndorf new freeway on ramps

I don't see the point in Option 3, as the whole point of the new interchange is to take traffic off the main street and it doesn't address this - if anything - it adds to the problem. As you said, you don't know the area very well. Option 3 takes traffic from Echunga and Meadows out of the Hahndorf...

Can't help thinking that roundabout would be more useful at the Majors Rd / Adams Rd intersection though. Can't see a need for it where they want to put it.

Re: The SA Politics Thread

You have a point with that education thing, but generally people vote for money. Rich people vote for whoever will take less of their money and help them make more. Poor people vote for whoever will give them more money. No amount of education is going to change that. However, the middle class needs...

Re: The SA Politics Thread

For state and Federal Elections, I believe there is no point in voting. Seriously, leave it to established Officials to choose the people most qualified for the job. So much more streamlined. So, let corruption reign? Established Officials will end up looking after themselves, meaning they will be ...

Re: The SA Politics Thread

Labor are going hard at this, and I suspect its because if she goes, they probably have already sweet talked enough of the crossbenchers to force a no confidence motion in Parliament and force an early election. I don't think they can actually force an early election in SA as we have fixed terms. W...

[CAN] Re: Hove Level Crossing Removal | $171m

To be realistic, (rather than practical or logical), I think we all know that the next level crossing project(s) announced before March 2022 will be politically motivated - either in a safe Liberal seat or a marginal seat where this sort of action might tip the extra few hundred votes over needed t...

I want this so much! We'll have our official first skyscraper. WTF? We had our fist skyscraper in 1925 - the T&G Building on the corner of King William and Grenfell. Then in the 1960s the AMP Building on the corner of King William and North Tce was a skyscraper. You think this will be a skyscra...
