Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport Contracts, Service & Policy
Nothing we didn't know already. I can't see much progress being made though, considering the attitudes of the current government towards urbanism: https://indaily.com.au/news/2023/08/15/adelaide-ranked-rock-bottom-for-tackling-traffic-congestion/ Adelaide’s public transport and cycling networks lag ...

15 levels is a good fit for the site, given its current surroundings. I'll wait to see the renders, but I expect this will be an improvement on what is currently on the site.

Yeah, imagine if we had a large public square in the centre of Adelaide! Maybe you could even add some more. Can you imagine if we had, like, 5 squares spread throughout the CBD? Maybe another one in North Adelaide for good measure? But, alas... you fail to see the difference between a public plaza...

The well grown plane trees that kept many shoppers' cars in the shade during summer (old car park) are gone with the realignment of the parking spots. The new trees planted will not be a good substitute. The sheltered area for the disabled parking in the original plans non existent. Just like the c...

I think you’ll find it’s largely related to who is elected to council. Gouger street and moonta street had a lot of money spent on them last time and the same this council term even though there is a huge list of streets far more deserving and needing. Gouger St would really benefit from wider foot...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
City of Adelaide are putting forward some interesting proposals as part of their planned makeover for O'Connell Street. Two concepts exist -- one with a planted median which would serve as an allowance for a future single tram track. The other is with a single tram track. Are you suggesting that on...

Interesting. Would be ace to see some big lux brands here. CBD should focus on securing a Zara, and some other cool yet affordable brands. Seems a shame this site has become such a behemoth. The site is restricted, surrounded by low density housing, bordered by a major truck route and very busy int...

I have heard rumour of a second tower on site to accommodate the remainder of the workforce later this decade. More info on the signage. Where would a second RAA tower actually fit in this area? The Westpac/State Bank building is pretty much hemmed in on all sides by heritage buildings/facades. On ...

On this site too: https://www.hospitalitynet.org/news/4116228.html, with construction to be completed by 2024 (apparently) Sadly, no mention of the proposed Wyndham Grand despite listing their other South Australian endeavours. Perhaps the deal has lapsed, and we're stuck with that rotting corner o...

Are you a building contractor? I'm just curious because you insist that all building works can carry on as normal as if the trees weren't there.. I personally don't know, and having seen residential blocks that have had significantly sized gum trees for example left standing, I assume that a block ...

I'm surprised that so many people are calling this precinct a success, it still has a long way to go in terms of site activation, especially on weekends and after hours. The residential component is too small in my opinion. Agreed, and the residential component should have been focused closer to To...
