Re: Sporting facility or Hospital???

Convert the Clipsal site to parkland and put a stadium somewhere along the west parklands. Could it work? ive thought that a sporting stadium of some sort along west terrace would be a good idea and i cant see why it would not be allowed seeing adelaide oval is in parkland area. i dont see an AFL, ...

Re: Sporting facility or Hospital???

I think the clipsal site would better be suited for medium to high density housing and maybe some office space too as it is so close to the city and right next to a trainline. The next hospital is ONLY going to be built over where the rail yards are now. there is enough space for a sporting venue ne...

Re: #Article: 65,000 people for city centre

Firstly to answer Wills question, 65 000 people could fit in the lower density housing in thw 1940's cos the average household was about 5 people now its about 2 and will continue to decrease. alot of the city centre area has also been taken over by offices etc. the cbd area is fairly large and 65 0...

I agree with you bulldozer. Adelaide needs a larger council area which would be in the best interest of people who not only live in the inside the parklands but also people who work, study or for other reasons. This would be alot more sensible democratically

[COM] Re: #Rejected: Aurora on Pirie, 15st 55m

IMO this is a ridiculous decision. therers already so much demand for good quality office space in Adelaide which has been seen by so much of this building already sold off. the fact that this has been blocked partly because of the height is pathetic. we live in a capital city not a country town ACC...

Re: The Missing Piece/s

I was also thinking as an architecture student more needs to be done to support the potential that artists and designers in adelaide have. The state government and adelaide city council love to boast that we have one of the worlds biggest fringe (arts) festivals in the world and give it more funding...

Re: The Missing Piece/s

Hey i like those ideas they sound great but they could be a while off. i know this is a while off but in 2036 SA will be 200 years since european settlement. Victoria square IMO is the best spot in Adelaide for some of the 'iconic' ideas you said. I think adelaide has great potential for art/design ...

Re: Underground CBD tunnels

I like the idea of using some of the tunnels for an underground rail system. I've always thought that a underground system should continue from the railway station under the Adelaide uni and then down Hutt Street, Wakefield/Grote Streets and back up West Tce and connect to the existing lines on the ...

Pt. Adelaide is at the moment being gentrified which will bring in more higher income people to the area. This development with alot of it selling for around 1million will also bring in more higher income earners. when this development will be complete i predict that Commercial st and St. Vicent st ...

The railway yards take up an enourmous amount of space from about Mophett st bridge in the east to almost the Police Barracks and old Adelaide Gaol in the west, which is probably 2.5 times larger than the current site. If the new RAH was to be built on the western side of the railway yards taking up...

I like this one, i think there's gonna be some good medium density around this little area of town with the coglin place and market st developments. although i dont like the market st dev. needs window shades or something to make it not so bland, cheers
