[PRO] Re: New Adelaide Aquatic Centre | $135M

I genuinely want to know what makes this aquatic centre "world class". Just looked up the definition of world class, Miriam Webster defines it as being "of the highest calibre in the world". If I was a swimmer, what would draw me to this aquatic centre over other places? There ar...

Re: Commonwealth Games in Adelaide

I think the event should be wound up permanently. It has lost its relevance since the professional year round athletics circuit in Europe has come into being many of the top athletes from Commonwealth nations give it a miss or don't prioritise it as an event to be in top form for. The English, the ...

Ah man you’re getting me in my feels too. So many of my uni years were spent in and around this arcade. Great times. Here’s to many more. Definitely the same. I remember sitting at a kiosk eating a pretzel in the centre of the walkway while a lady in a nearby shop convinced "12 year old" ...

[U/C] Re: Central Market Arcade Redevelopment | 130m | 39 levels

I would imagine most retail outlets would be a mix of luxury / local retail (a mix of Frewville foodland with Burnside). Keep in mind, this isn't a huge arcade in terms of floor area compared to the markets themselves. It will work well.

Are you a building contractor? I'm just curious because you insist that all building works can carry on as normal as if the trees weren't there.. I personally don't know, and having seen residential blocks that have had significantly sized gum trees for example left standing, I assume that a block ...

Telstra will occupy the top 2-3 floors. The building is not satisfactorily large enough to fit all Services Australia staff that were planned to be moved there; it was designed and approved pre-pandemic, which as we know changed things a bit. Internal fitout is underway, with some office spaces alr...

The lights on the sign facing west are out of order. Currently 'The Switch' reads 'he wit' at night.
Thanks for the important information SRW. Quite humourous. Everyone be sure to keep an eye on the He Wit lights.

For those who think this is not a seriously proposal. Nobody thought the swiss cheese block on Waymouth was a serious proposal either.

They say this development is too tall and impeding for the 2 storey location showing pictures of the render with the Adelaidean and Yugo in the background lol.
More likely reason: A political faction wants to be shown they are doing something.

Surely, the developers would have known there is an aquifer there and would have factored it in excavation or digging. The ACC, state government, SA Water and research firms do hydro-geological surveys and reports in Adelaide all the time to assess roadworks, or any excavation. These reports are pub...
