[COM] Re: #PRO: 74-80 Light Square | 45m | 13lvls | Office

What is also insane is that this is the same people that approved absolute crap looking new developments like spark88, i-pad & palais! Like these have added anything to the desired character of there surroundings. Just give it up councillors.

Re: [] CBD Development: General

there is plenty of office and residential projects that has already been approved by council that haven't yet been built simply because there hasn't been enough leasing pre-commitments or sales to warrant construction in today's credit environment. Atd, thats exactly my point - many developments ha...

Re: [] CBD Development: General

All the red tape and delays caused by the ACC over the years is now starting to catching up with them & I predict 5 years of limited activity in the private sector . Many developments if approved earlier would have missed the GFC and would have been able to get construction finance and would hav...

Yeah try telling councillor Sandy Wilkinson that [who somehow believes the opposite].
Any way good news that there will be some activity soon.

Re: [] News: Adelaide City Council

Hi David on the the 30 May you wrote I have to say that you make a good point which I will have to think about and discuss with my colleagues. I wonder if you/your collegues have had time to respond? Can you and fellow councillors see the hypocrisy of council carpaking policy for new developments ac...

Re: [] News: Adelaide City Council

David can you explain the reasoning [or your opinion] why one carpark is still a requirement for every apartment over 60 or 80 sqm [very small] and two carparks for all apartments over 120 sqm? Why cant developments for larger apartments be allowed without these onerous carpark demands? If the counc...

Re: [] News: Adelaide City Council

The reason why this argument COMPLETELY falls apart is the councils own guidelines/policies! The fact is larger apartments are required to have at least one if not two carparks each by council. Therefore even if the developer wants to build bigger apartments he is forced to comply with this ridiculo...

Re: #PRO: City Busway - O-Bahn to West Tce

It makes sense if Grenfell St is a transport hub and not use exclusively for o-bahn traffic - if so, why didnt they say that? ie all bus stops along Grenfell St will now be along these 2 lanes which would make sense. So buses that are say turning from Grenfell St onto King William Rd or Pulteney St ...

Re: #PRO: O-Bahn extension to West Tce

Many people work or live in the city - so a Ring Rd doesn't help their cause. People will still drive into the city regardless - it just will be worse. Even if you dont drive - the existing buses/traffic probably wont cope with Grenfell St if the o-bahn chews 2 lanes! If it's not guided track, why w...

Re: #PRO: O-Bahn extension to West Tce

Yeah but finding 2 lanes for the o-bahn in Grenfell St appears nuts... so will Grenfell St reduce to 1 lane only for cars? There are so many other buses that leave from Grenfell St and go in different directions than the o-bahn route - so what is the benefit - it will just clog it up more?

I suspect the waterfront pics are the site of the council reserve on the waterfront [Brebner Drive] that was put up for discussion as a new library/community centre with apartments above it.

Not really - I think it went broke - so if people dont frequent it and the place cant make money what choice is there?
The dentists probably make far more so can pay the rent & on time. So supply and demand.

The duck pond and retaining walls all underwent a big renovation and are still there [the photo was when it was being worked on].
West Lakes and then later in the 90s Golden Grove both won Worlds best awards.

To Clr Yarwood, Talking about the homeless/low income when are they starting that building in Light Square for them? Also has the ACC got a cafe yet in the new bus station - if not go back to Villis and let them have late hours/liquor license. Also when is the old bus station coming down? What ever ...

Re: #U/R: Newport Quays | [ Port Adelaide Waterfront ]

A few questions stumpjumper Isnt the landlord entitled to have their property back at the end of the lease [or more-so if there is no lease] or does the tenants needs somehow over-ride the owners? If the boat yard is profitable why cant they just go and rent another big shed and keep employing their...
