[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

Gotta say, having a skim through some of the proposals and visions for that site, i'm impressed, particularly at the positive outcomes for public open space, will link nicely to the Botanic Gardens. I think North Terrace is a very unique asset to Adelaide, even more so once these visions have been r...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

If they don't want to work at the designated work location, being Port Adelaide - perhaps they look for other work? That's what the rest of us do in the real world - deal with it.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Makes me feel proud seeing trams in our CBD - you could almost mistake Adelaide for a modern progressive city :)

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide City Council

by SRW » Wed Jul 18, 2018 1:17 pm Latest policy endeavour of the council for city developments is to require qualified architects to have prepared every proposal. Apparently Australia is unusual in not mandating architectural involvement, so Adelaide would be setting a standard nationally. some wei...

[COM] Re: Blackwood Roundabout upgrade

Still on cards, after years of community consultation, they have decided to leave the soldier memorial where it is, plans are being adjusted accordingly.

Blackwood is a retirement village and things move at a glacial pace in those parts.

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Network

It's a tough one, you need the stations to attract people to public transport in the first place. The new 30 minute frequency will help with this surely and they need a public awareness campaign once the line has been updated. It's hard to ween people from their cars, increase tax on fuel I say! But...

[COM] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

I can't see a business case for an upgrade of Memorial Drive unfortunately, I for one, am a little weary of my tax dollars going toward sporting precincts.

I don't think we could even get back an ATP Tournament ? As that went to Brisbane.

Let's celebrate Martin, when the bikeway actually links North to South - at this rate it may be in 2020

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

Good in depth article, interesting point concerning Melbourne - the largest, but slowest tram network in the world - quite the assertion? Can the tram buffs here verify?

Re: News & Discussion: Trams

I think its disappointing that the fare reduction applies only to the 28 day passes. I don't think it solves the lack of PT uptake in Adelaide (worst of Australian capital cities), the fare reductions should apply more broadly, to encourage new users to PT. Also leads to another point, why isn't the...

Ventured down Topham Mall on the weekend and whilst I applaud what the council are trying to achieve, it looks a little unfinished and my god those flappy things look bloody horrible!

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Network

Thanks for the responses people, the opinion is clear, I didn't realise it took so long, guess that is why it closed in the first place. As for the freight train noise, I live in Eden Hills and it is loud, but we knew that when we purchased the property and to be honest I can't see the merit in spen...
