Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

I can't think of any big store that would be suitable for Rundle Place. I imagine the ground floor businesses wouldn't like the type of crowds it would bring in, but that first floor former Harris Scarfe space seems like it would be ideal for a bowling alley and arcade type of setup. I work in Rund...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

There are also operational limitations to running more services between Gawler and Gawler Central due to this section only having a single track. Running a 15 minute service would force quick turnarounds at Gawler Central and doesn't allow recovery from late running.

The perennial question, should this be UC rather than SWP? I know excavating the basement is Site Works, but there are four ground level columns at the Southern end which have been poured. You can see one of these in EBG's photo from this morning Good pick up, just changed it to U/C :) I was on sit...

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands

Interestingly enough, my experience is that the outer suburban councils are generally better at dealing with roadside and local street maintenance than the inner suburban council counterparts. May have something to do with the outer suburban councils covering much larger populations than the smaller...

SCAP's reasons for refusal appear reasonable. Doesn't seem like height was the main contributing factor to the application's rejection in this instance.

Level 17 would probably be the lift shaft overrun, so it's likely that the low-rise lifts run as high as Level 16 while the high-rise lifts serve levels 16 to 29.

Bit of a waste opportunity but better than weeds growing. Yeah I tend to agree, being on Pirie Street. But it's important developers have the confidence to build new office space in the CBD. It's only a low rise but it has a fairly large amount of actual lettable space. This is the trend now in off...

Congrats CDJ. It's always interesting being on the inside of an industry and then appreciating how much work and effort goes into making a development of this scale happen. From the developer acquiring and financing purchase of a property, to developing concepts and detailed plans, (which could incl...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Qatar is currently flying a second daily flight which is detouring to and from Adelaide after arriving in Melbourne, however it doesn't appear to be taking passengers from Adelaide. I believe this is a temporary compliance arrangement for Qatar until it goes back to the planned Doha-Melbourne-Canber...

[VIS] Re: New Womens and Childrens Hospital

One other thing to consider... what impact would this have on events in Bonython Park? I imagine some of the music festivals might be deemed too loud to be immediately adjacent to the hospital. On the flip side, any casualties from any incidents at those events would be right on the doorstep of bot...

This isn't quite your typical construction site. Given the proximity of excavation and construction to an existing heritage building, I imagine extra care and checks are in place to ensure that there isn't any accidental undermining and compromising of the existing heritage building. Once the core a...
