the interior looks great for student accom.
This building has turned out better than expected IMHO. The renders weren't that great but the final product looks pretty good, esp for something constructed so quickly.

The bookshop has now vacated so the site is ready to go should it be approved. The Lord Mayor was saying yesterday, council is against this as it will set a dangerous precedent on Adelaide's "Champs-Élysées" http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/south-australia/lord-mayor-martin-haese-...

I agree. I have heard that Sofitel/Currie St is 75% sold but they need close to 100% sold before they will start. So its up to the market/public now when it goes ahead... I've heard to the contrary. As the development is 80% hotel, pre commitment for apartments isn't required. Yeah Ive heard simila...

Brickworks -just- got redeveloped. There's about 5m of land west available (if that) that can be utilised. I'm going to hedge my bets the land acquisition will be to the east and be a tunnel portal through to SBR. There is no way in hell there'll be an elevated structure, trench or at grade freeway...

People really need to pay attention to their gardens or plant boxes during really hot weather. It isn't hard to spend a few minutes of your life to water the plants just so they can get through the day. My next door neighbours have been slack with watering their plants  Utterly fascinating obs...

Work on the Taylor bridge widening has halted (a few weeks ago I think, as none of the earthmoving equipment nearby has moved for a while) & been postponed until 'early 2018', and linear path will be temporarily reinstated under the bridge from Dec 15 (until an unspecified later date when it wi...

Did they ever end-up connecting the building to the bridge? If so, any pics?
There is an entry of sorts on Morphett St but it is quite modest. It could purely be a service entry for builders.

The difference is in the way they frame their respective heritage buildings. The GPO development does that particularly poorly, and it's especially noticeable as a prominent corner site. As much as the Myer Center is an ugly POS the one thing it does well on North Terrace is how it blends in with t...

Re height - the original post (Nov 16) refers to 40,000 sq meters of space. The most recent article again refers to 40,000 sq meters.

Could be lazy reporting or it could be as previous poster suggests - IE no change.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines

Yeah look it's a bit akin to living on a railway line but some distance from the station. You get the noise but not necessarily the benefits as you are not near the station. However, you bought the joint at a discount price. Many factors make up the ultimate price of a property and people who live i...

Re: U/C: Electrification & Upgrade of the Adelaide Rail Network

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the nearest station to the Flinders Uni and other developments on the old Mitsubishi site?

There appear a lot of opportunity to expand on that site so in time a railway station would be pretty handy I would have thought?
