The cultural tourism elements were already in place at Port Adelaide. They just needed to be identified and re-presented instead of bulldozed. The new buildings should have been constructed around the old. This can not be done at the macro scale the large South Australian developers work on when the...

Was demolition of the exhibition building for a carpark progress? Was demolition of Hotel Adelaide for the Hungry Jacks carpark progress? The planning process is still a democratic process but in this instance that process was not followed. Neighbouring properties would have benefited more from a 3-...

What happens when the paddock Rhino looks over gets subdivided and he loses his view? We need fixed ur...

One thing I learnt from working in a petrol station for 5 years is never underestimate the laziness or stupidity of the general public.

Just checked Wikipedia and I was wrong about the area but right about the relative densities. Singapores density for the entire country (not just the city) is 6,369/km2 more than 10x our 615/km2. Imagine Adelaide in an area 13km x 13km which I would guess to be Portrush Rd to Tapleys Hill Rd and Cro...

Having seen the plan for the interchange and the land available the possibilities seem immense. A little dream. The Govt sells the rights to develop a shopping centre incorporating a supermarket etc around and above the interchange. Perhaps bus interchange, shops etc at ground level, car parking at ...

Tenders have just been called for construction managers on 42-56 Whitmore Sq. This is the Troppo designed 4 storey public housing project.

The elevations look fantastic. It will be a welcome addition to our medium density housing stock.

This seems like a very expensive way of getting "cheap" land. The sooner the Govt works out that there is no such thing as cheap land on the suburban fringes the better. Some areas are meant to flood. Virginia is such a good area for growing crops because it has been regularly flooded for ...

This is the link to the company's website. It seems to simply be a tracking system with diffusers (or concentrators?) above the pv cells to maximise efficiency. Sorry for the vagueness bat as you can probably tell I'm no scientist.

The current energy debate appears to be should we replace our coal powered electricity stations with Nuclear power or renewable sources. Conservatives say the renewable sources can't provide the response to demand required by industry and homes because the sources of renewable energy are unreliable ...

Aware of that but it appears a better short term solution for base load energy than either coal or nuclear until the renewables sector can overcome their shortfalls.
