Re: News & Discussion: Low/Mid-Rise CBD Development

There is currently a building by FormeProjex under construction at the first site linked by EBG. I believe the most recent approval posted in this thread by Ben is their next project, which is not yet underway, but will be on the site over the side of the square which currently houses Beaurepaires.

Very thankful for the required changes on this one, particularly setbacks (they proposed none!) and the retention of the council trees. Greenhill Road does not need to look industrial. It's not a bad development otherwise.

Given Adelaidean and Realm are fairly set back in this airport view is it likely they may not appear in line with Westpac building when completed? Or is the ground slightly higher. Have marked up a red line where I thought they may top out around. My guess is that Adelaidean will be roughly where t...

walked past this last week and there seemed to be some activity - couldn't see much due to fences but this looked hopeful (and recent!) I had the same momentary hopes when I walked past the other week until I realised (as noted by baytram366) that it was just being used in relation to the KWS upgra...

New Darlington video released. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOYD5EBRJ0U (deleted) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5D2ME7ZKzw (updated link) Thanks for the update - I sent the original link to some people to view and noticed it had gone. From looking at the update, they fixed the bit at around 1...

This looked spectacular in the late afternoon light tonight; not sure if the photos convey it fully.

Nice to see that one of the few buildings in the CBD that is covering the concrete western wall probably didn't need to thanks to the proximity of its neighbour but a nice aesthetic touch nonetheless.

[COM] Re: 11 Frome Street | 135m | 37 Levels | Crowne Plaza / Adelaidean | New tallest

2020 has always been the estimated completion date for this project as far as I am aware. Even press articles on it going back to very early 2018 were saying 2020. It's got ~18 full levels to go, so allowing approximately a little over one week per floor which is reasonable I don't see why it wouldn...

Great photos and this is definitely one of Adelaide's most attractive taller buildings. Would have been perfect if there was another 5-6 storey section like the top 2 added on top with the same kind of offset look as the other top two sections. If they do get around to the 'phase 2' next door I'll b...

Too bulky and needlessly so. It's right next to U2 (or whatever it's going to be called) which is significantly taller and therefore virtually zero issue going a bit taller and letting the design 'breathe' a bit. I agree with the Govt Architect that there could be more differentiation - apparently t...

I won't judge this one until it is finished but yeah it's not looking good so far on the western side. I walked past Kodo on the market side today and it ended up not half bad all things considered. Here's hoping they manage to pull a rabbit out of the hat with this one as well.

I try not to wade into politics because there's always a core of members who think it's a team they are supporting for better or worse but this response by the State Govt is atrocious. Since the GFC in 2008 it's been really REALLY clear to every state and territory that federal funding for major inf...

This didn't work as well as I thought it would  but was intended to show the deconstruct of the crane at UCity and the U2 reconstruct.
