Re: News & Discussion: Public Transport
If this all true it is very disappointing! All very well to spend hundreds of millions on PT, with a wishlist of many millions more. But they won't even run what's already there properly. Slow trams, infrequent trains... Seriously. If the state gov is to hold its hand out for the many hundreds of m...

Last I read it is likely -up and over the torrens river (not sure about incline for ditch to elevated to ditch) -down into ditch past brickworks -tunnel(s) due to heritage buildings and tight space for henley beach and sir donald bradman -ditch to anzac -elevated due to contaminated soils past cast...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor
The new roundabout at Brickworks on Ashwin Pde is really big, it must have a future purpose for trucks doing u-turns, the South Rd / Ashwin Pde intersection doesn't seem wide enough to have an underpass with entry / exit points on each corner. What are they doing with that section from Ashwin Pde t...

Looks awesome, still not sold on the port colours though. Maybe it could have those light panels like that carpark at the end of Rundle mall... might keep the patients up at night thoughFabrice wrote:Aerial photograph taken on the 23rd September 2015

Meanwhile the last remaining property (Funeral Home) along the T2T section is currently being demolished. So glad this is actually finally happening! I'm still yet to be convinced this will be a good thing. I have read about induced demand and this just moves the bottleneck from Regency Rd to Ashwi...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
I'll argue the inverse. That city tram and inner-metro loops will foster much more economic interest and activity for SA than electrifying any Adelaide suburban train line, both short-term (while building the loops) and longer-term (as the loops become more and more patroned*) * is 'patroned' a wor...

Re: News & Discussion: Road Issues & Traffic Congestion
In 2006, the road carried 48,000 cars per day, then 63,000 in 2012. In 2015 it carried 69,000 cars per day. Yikes, I didn't realise that there was that big of an increase. From my perspective the congestion started when they lowered the speed limit from 80(or 90?) back to 60 while the superway was ...

Re: News & Discussion: Road Issues & Traffic Congestion
Has anyone noticed a huge increase in congestion on the Salisbury Highway since they've finished the Superway? Every morning it's bumper to bumper from Port Wakefield Road until the PREXY. It wasn't like that before The Northern Connector will fix that. Yeah it will, but that congestion didn't exis...

Because of an accident at Bolivar road it took an hour to get from Churchill Road North to Virginia today. I hope the NC is built ahead of schedule.
I hate you Port Wakefield Road, whos idea was it to have a single 2 lane road as the only way north out of Adelaide.

You know what doesn't make sense? That northbound offramp from the NC onto Bolivar Road. How bloody windy does the road need to be? Within a year a truck will roll on that exit, taking bets now Interesting traffic design dilemma - is it better to make winding road so that an inadequate and inattent...
