Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands
Apparently 2024 is some kind of reverse year. Adelaide City Council has committed to opposing all development in the parklands for 5 years, and the Adelaide Park Lands Association calling that unrealistic and wanting sporting facilities and clubrooms upgraded.

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail
They're idiots. The quest to 'modernise' it has turned the Myer Centre facade into generic piece of crap. However, I remain grateful that Rundle Mall as a whole is so much better-looking and lively than it was years ago. Completely disagree. There’s nothing lovely about the current Rundle Mall. The...

Painted concrete is almost always worse than leaving it raw. Might look cleaner for 6 months, but will very quickly look worse.

Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD
I appreciate the comments! I don't believe Barbara is still with Renewal SA, but I agree that she was really great for the community engagement. It's a shame that the reference group was disbanded and it was funny when talking with Renewal SA recently they were *shocked* when we said we feel that th...

Re: News & Developments: Bowden TOD
Thanks Norman. It's encouraging that we've at least got some traction with it, having already met with RenewalSA (with another to come), and other residents being in contact with government. There's also been some follow up with Charles Sturt as well. I believe RenewalSA are taking the open letter s...

I can’t add my comments here now (about to step into a work Christmas lunch), but well, you can see some of my comments in the article. We’re pushing hard to get proper retail and services, needed for the promised walkable TOD, not just bars and cafes. https://indaily.com.au/news/local/2023/12/20/bo...

The active crossing at North Adelaide Station is apparently finally operational today. Only took 5 1/2 years and one death.

Who can we pay to accidentally clip the ratty carpark next door with heavy machinery during construction?

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
you'd spend more time waiting at a bus or tram stop than sitting in traffic... not to mention walking to/from the stop obviously its convenient as its the option the masses prefer We spend more time waiting at a stop than in traffic and have to walk large distances because public transport is at th...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
How would peak hour traffic work down Unley Rd, Goody Rd or The Parade with fewer lanes for traffic when the majority of the journeys start from other areas? The ideal outcome is a tram service and infrastructure would simultaneously encourage changes in travel behaviour and force driving to become...

This one is directly opposite the park and is the most important remaining site due to both size and location. Here you can see the prominence of the site https://www.sentinelcorp.com/blog/2023/03/28/sentinel-to-deliver-south-australias-first-institutional-build-to-rent-community/. Once this has a ...
