[VIS] Re: New Womens and Childrens Hospital
Surely the car park could have been either buried or partially buried on its current porposed site or under the hospital itself? An eight storey block takes away from any design merits they are hoping to achieve with the facade of this new hospital… I think I mentioned earlier, but the nRAH contain...

[VIS] Re: New Womens and Childrens Hospital
Looks like a major improvement to me, particularly for an aspect of a key piece of public health infrastructure. It's an otherwise unremarkable slither of land where horses used to shit. image_2023-12-04_202112552.png Should the car park go underground? Perhaps that's the ideal solution. But what's...

Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments
My guess would be not secured properly, since most of the calculations would have been done with those walls never experiencing wind from that direction when the structure is complete.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
name one place in the world where this is the case that isn't Pyongyang does Amsterdam have less traffic than Adelaide? I very much doubt it. sure its 3x the size but that's not the point is it Which part do you want examples of being the case? That PT is cheaper when you plan for it from the start...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Public transport is a logistical nightmare, not like the beautiful efficient road traffic that is funded to the cost of up to tens of thousands of millions of dollars on single routes alone. Plan for efficient public transport from the start and it becomes a lot cheaper, and frees up more space for...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Incl. 115m Tower | $800 million
It was a wasteland, because a concrete space, void of any shade, or greenery, that is blazing hot in summer, and cold and windswept in winter, has no real use in Adelaide’s climate apart from the odd activation at festivals. It was supposed to have greenery and water, as well as finished in tiles r...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
In a good part of the the section highlighted I imagine the bike path would be on the oval side anyway, but this is getting away from airport relevant stuff.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
A bikeway is a great idea and something badly lacking in the area. I can understand the push to put rail to the airport, but if inner west residents (who have been known to be vocal on such issues - I'm one of them), are subjected to construction and railway noise, for a line they don't even get to...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
Honestly I’d be more for a train/tram than buses. Like take it from an international travellers point of view. Who would want to travel on one of Adelaide metros old, musty buses when a train/tram would have a much smoother, more modern ride, and quicker (if it’s constructed in a direct route). I’d...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
The mode most suited to the Keswick Creek alignment would be monorail! But no, I’m not suggesting building one, as that isn’t a sensible route. SDBD would be a much better route for trams. Not suited for monorail as it would have a monorail running almost directly above a bunch of suburban backyard...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
If a government ever did consider the storm drain tram approach (which would be quite expensive due to the narrowness of that corridor along most of the route requiring a bunch of residential acquisitions) I think it would actually be more beneficial to consider making it O-Bahn track.

Yep, and beyond that reserved land it's even more clear of the city and hills.ChillyPhilly wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 12:15 amThe masterplan for the Multi-function Polis showed a third runway as I have illustrated:
