https://i.imgur.com/g5wjdScl.jpg The landscaping treatment out the front is looking a bit tragic. It doesn't yet look like the pavers or rows of trees out the front of the RAH & SAHMRI will be continued along here, unless the bitumen is temporary, but there was already a temporary concrete surf...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
Is there much of a difference between Singapore Airlines setups on both aircraft other then the tight squeeze for economy class? The dreamliners were very much hyped if memory serves me.. I think the passenger to toilet ratio is slightly better on the A350. Happy to be corrected though. Looking at ...

Re: Thebarton Brewery Site Redevelopment
The tanks were being pulled down this morning, there was a large demolition rig tipping them over and rolling them into a neat row on the ground. Only three or four still standing when I went past.

Not sure what the mobile crane was for, but the temporary lift that was attached to the exterior has been removed, which will allow the facade to be completed. I guess that means at least one of the inside lifts has power and is running

[COM] Re: SAHMRI Stage 2
The window shades seem to be simultaneously too small to be effective at shading the building, and yet big enough (and the wrong orientation, ie mostly vertical instead of horizontal) to be visually disruptive to anyone looking at the outside view from inside the building. Its a fairly trivial deta...

I don't think there's a cover on them once installed, they're just painted light grey. As you can see, the windows are not being shaded much.

Ambulances use the North Terrace and Port Rd sections of the tram track all the time. I see them using the track almost weekly. If there's a tram ahead they either move onto the road or cross to the other track until they get past.

Re: News & Discussion: Electricity Infrastructure
It will be problematic if you get up in the morning, and instead of being charged, the car has discharged into the grid overnight and hasn't yet had a chance to recharge from the sun. Whether this is feasible will depend on how much power you use overnight, which season it is, and what time in the ...

Re: News & Discussion: Electricity Infrastructure
You might be happy to have your energy use "managed" but large energy intensive industries are not. Backup generation in SA is regularly "managed" by diesel generation-so you don't notice a shortage of power...hardly good for the environment. None of this is advertised by whoeve...
