[COM] Re: SAHMRI Stage 2

Been a while since I posted a photo of the site, but here's what it looks like today. Not a lot of visual progress over the last couple of months although the bunker is fully excavated now. If I had to guess, it looks like the current focus for the last few weeks has been making sure the walls are a...

It is absolutely bonkers that the developer was permitted to build something with so few and such small windows. Even the Remand center has much bigger windows than this thing.

Concrete being poured in the bunker today so I guess that's as deep as it will get. A few more days of heavy rain and we could have Adelaide's newest aquatic center, there's quite a bit of water pooling in the square pits at the edges of the worksite.

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Beyond Bouldering is in the middle of renovating the old Ferrari Formalwear building on the corner of Princes Parade and South Road (at the top edge of the work zone) into their new third location. Looks like they won’t be there for long, if they end up opening at all. Quite a few new looking knock...

Bunker excavation has begun, plus a large area has been sealed with concrete (& the rest will probably follow soon).

Look now mate. They filled one in and are starting again in another spot. I can just see it from the gate on George St. Sounds like a lot of rock
I can see they've scraped out a pretty neat square about 5x5m & ~1m deep. Putting in another sewage sump or something maybe?

26/6/2021 more excavation going ahead today with 2 excavators in the south east corner (next to Adelaide uni med school). Perhaps Listy could take picture from his vantage point. It's hard to see down into the south eastern corner from AHMS, but they were possibly tidying up around some pilings or ...

[VIS] Re: New Womens and Childrens Hospital

FWIW, there's already a couple of great big ugly car parks in Bonython park just off Port Rd. (which are mostly filled by RAH staff anyway because they are free all day). The proposed location for the multistory park in the video is mostly just a big dirt car park for police and/or council staff. A ...

Piling rig has now departed & digging around the pilings is underway for capping. It will be interesting to see how they go about excavating the bunker, as the site access ramp is built up on top of a lot the pilings

[COM] Re: SAHMRI Stage 2

Pilings have been going in during the last week or so. The smell of old diesel & naphthalene/mothballs has become quite pronounced in the last few days, possibly because the piling rig is bringing up a whole lot of contaminated soil that wasn't removed earlier. The area next to North Tce was qui...

Looks like preparations are underway so the piling rig can build a sub ground wall (another part was built a few months ago, before being covered over by the dirt access ramp). The area adjacent to North Terrace has been tidied up a bit, and there's a new scaffold stairway for site access https://i....

Yes, the tent has come down (for the final time?), revealing a deeper bit of excavation which might be for the bunker. The area at the front of the photo has all been carefully leveled and rolled flat.

Re: New City Arena

In really simple terms, this arena is effectively a massive expansion of the Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC). It is this convention component that makes it economically feasible. No convention component, and the arena DOESN’T GET BUILT! The convention/conference industry as we knew it is dead, and...

Post from the EPA on LinkedIn suggests that remediation of the site will be complete by November 2021, with construction of the building to follow. Remediation of what though? I'm interested to know :?: Whatever it is, it's black - looks like oil. Given it's been there for 50+ years, I wouldn't be ...
