Re: $100m DEVELOPMENT - MOUNT GAMBIER

Note this proposal is in DC Grant not MtG. MtG is expanding beyond the City Council limits and into Grant which is predominantly a farming council with no interest in planning regulations. This development should go through without a hitch.

[COM] Re: Proposal: 20 Hindmarsh Square (15 lvl Hotel, 14 lvl Apartmen

The blank walls are just because the buildings are going right to the boundary and therefore need to be fireproof. They are constructed as cheaply as possible with little thought for aesthetics because the developer has no control over development on the adjacent site. Imagine building an apartment ...

The Advertiser appears to be behind this proposal so they probably won't publish letters against it.

The project needed to be broken down into smaller sections with the most commercially viable sections done first. This would have allowed a broader range of developers to be involved and resulted in a more diverse architectural palette. In the absence of unlimited funds many small developments are ...

HGIH the last thing I want is some pseudo heritage residential theme park. My point is the proposed development has been lifted straight out of the the Gold Coast and divided up into sanitised precincts where everything is separated. At the moment it is heading towards another soulless west lakes ju...

The old Clipsal site is actually the current Clipsal site on Park Tce facing the parklands. Clipsal have announced that they are planning to relocate to allow for much greater manufacturing efficiency. I understand they are looking to house everything in the 1 building instead of the 40 something bu...

It seems to be a common misconception that something is only heritage if it is made of stone. It is not a buildings age or materials that determines its value it is the role that it played in the development of a community or architectural style or as the backdrop to historical events. Such sheds ca...

If the hospital is moved, the current site should be used to extend the North Terrace cultural precinct, by building a new world-class museum of modern art, or a national beer centre. Both the Museum and Art Gallery of South Australia have only a tiny proportion of their collections on show. Judici...

If you are going to combine the Queen Liz & RAH then the Clipsal site would have to come into consideration. Extending the tram to service the Entertainment Centre, Hindmarsh Stadium and the hospital would be an easy argument to make. ABC News Online Last Update: Thursday, May 24, 2007. 4:22pm (...

Thanks for the photos Howie. I knew it was big but not that big. If you were building new you would want capacity for at least an additional 1/3 of the floor area. If you put it on one of the city sites I suggested it would have to be Adelaides tallest building. For a CBD location the proposed site ...

The more I think about this the more it seems like an extraordinary waste of a site with so much tourism potential and importance. Trying hard to think of a city or near city location that might work. My list and the pitfalls so far: - Keswick - desolate location but well connected to transport, mig...

Maybe it should go to keswick so the people who freeze to death (or die of boredom) waiting for a taxi at the bus station have quick access to medical treatment. Other perimeter sites include Clipsal. If they do build it above the train lines I hope they make a serious effort to provide active front...

HGIH go back and have a look at stumpjumpers post on May 12 for your answer. I haven't been to check whether they have been demolished yet but there are also a number of significant wharf sheds to be demolished for the tourism precinct. The retail/residential precinct was far from an empty site. The...
