[CAN] Re: APP: 43-69 Sturt Street | 50m | 5 - 14lvls |Mixed Use $1

As someone who lives in the 'Beirut Quarter', I received a lovely flyer in the letterbox last week from (I presume) this group all in bright red and black warning me in highly panicked tones that we'll have skyscrapers galore surrounding us in our cottages and townhouses. I appreciate their democrat...

Flinders Loft is further east, basically next door to the Soho (which is going to lose a lot of its city views when/if this proceeds).

[COM] Re: South Rd Upgrades - News & construction ONLY | U/C: Supe

I'll need to drive out there and see for myself but let's face it - if it wasn't tall we'd invariably end up with an AdelaideNow story with a picture of a tall truck or someone towing a sailboat wedged up against the lower part of the bridge two weeks after it opens. Maybe I'm just a fan of industri...

Depending on when/if the Caledonia proposal goes ahead, the bane on the landscape from this development might be quite limited. Also, my 'OKness' with this proposal is probably induced by my (unfortunate) day to day familiarity with what is on this site right now... broken pavers used for car parkin...

Thanks for the photos aeon and Norman! Kept meaning to take some of this everytime I go past but it's been too cold ;-) I'm surprisingly pleased by how this is turning out. I'll be frank, the bar was pretty low because Franklin St was a rather tired looking place prior to the new City Central buildi...

[CAN] Re: ONH: The Precinct - 5 x 18 lvl - 58m towers

I'm really in two minds over that call. I'm the first to admit the old bus station site is a mess and not really projecting the 'image' we might want to but I think we all know if something nice was made with that area then it will become a veritable no go zone for any future development because ins...

I'm OK with this development 'up close' but I can see it from my roof deck and it's not particularly impressive from a distance (compared to say, even Altitude or Horizon). Great urban infill but also makes a mockery of the ACC forcing that rather nice looking building on the corner of Light Square ...

So the Advertiser article claims it is 20 levels? Is this a benefit associated with the revised planning guidelines, sloppy journalism or a reference to levels below ground as well? Either way the location for this is great - very prominent to traffic coming in from the airport and a nice place to m...

[CAN] Re: VIS: BHP Tower - $250 million

A good article... oh, it's from the Australian and not the Advertiser... not surprised! One thing they are right about (from my view of the world, anyway) is that most of the growth, if it comes, will be residential apartment towers. Most cities in Australia (I don't know what the world at large is ...

[CAN] Re: PRO: 43-69 Sturt Street | 50m | 5 - 14lvls |Mixed Use $1

Why wouldn't trucks enter Meyers Lane from the other end (which is extremely wide, in fact, about 4 cars wide) and the end which is closer to the development rather than the teeny tiny one way entrance shown here? Turning in off Sturt Street would also be a lot easier than turning in off Gilbert Str...
