Re: Electrification and Resleepering of TransAdelaide Network

Can we have electric battery trains? I am Not an electrical engineer but wouldn't it be logical to simply tow rechargeable battery carriages that can be swapped for a charged ones when needed rather than building kilometers of overhead wiring. I addition the trains lend them selves to have a roof to...

Re: #Proposed : Port Adelaide Tram Line

I would love to see the tram system extended to particularly the inner suburban suburbs with redevelopment potential, like Kent town, Bowden Thebarton, Wayville, and Mile end. If we combine this with Kevin Foley’s vision for a higher density we could get some real vibrancy into the city.

Re: #Article: Lord Mayor Harbison's Three Super Councils Plan

The Adelaide CBD and its immediate surrounds are for all South Australians, I would be in favor of the State Government running this area and leaving the rest to local government.

Re: Solving the Britannia Roundabout Mess

The main problem in the east is the limited entry points to the CBD, we are trying to funnel all the traffic into North Tce, narrow Pirie St, the now blocked Rundle St or via the Britannica roundabout. Now Victoria Park is no more lets link some of those eastern suburbs roads to the city to spread t...

Re: No more height restrictions in Adelaide?!

Keep the view, It may be all very well to have Adelaide planned on a grid but when it comes to building high rise and tower blocks can we please angle them or have set backs so that the inhabitants can retain a view. I am in favor of taller slander buildings with less bulk. I would be so peeved if I...

Re: Governors Place

This site lends its self to a fantastic formal public garden linking the city with the Torrens. The natural fall at the rear of the site (parade grounds end) could be developed into a “people’s amphitheater and parade grounds to seat up to 20,000 for concerts. The stage rooms and amenities could...

Governors Place

Lets get some real useful civic space by moving the governors fence back 50m, better still put the governor up at Carclew at North Adelaide and return the best bit of accessible park land to the public. :D

Re: No more height restrictions in Adelaide?!

What great news! When you look around Adelaide at the moment there is probably several hundred floors under construction or about to be, but with out some tall buildings breaking the skyline we are not capitalizing on the boom.

[COM] Re: #Proposed: 79-91 Rundle Mall, 19 Storey Office and Retail

What a great site and huge as well, this is the ideal location for a real land mark building or buildings. This is the opportunity to really get some life into the mall, a 24 hour building as well as offices would bring life to the dead mall at night, why not add :D another 20 levels of apartments/h...

Re: Railyards Site Redevelopment

Best of both worlds, Why does the Marj have to be a loss of civic space? Surely we could have both on the same site. When you walk along South Bank in Melbourne you really don’t have any idea what is going on above the mix of restaurants, there is actually a mix of office and hotels. It seems to m...
