[COM] Re: #U/C: 374-400 King William St - 47m, 11 lvls
Im just reporting what I have heard... Also, just because vacancy rates are dropping, it doesn't mean you can just knock up a building and expect tenants to flood through the door! You need to remember that these rates are calculated based on the occupation level of existing buildings. If you add ex...

I heard a rumour that this development has stalled.... anyone else hear this? By stalled do you mean taking forever? if so yes. Is there a reason you keep hearing these "rumours" I belive you brought up something similar about Hills House? Maybe your source has an alterior motive? sorry f...

I work in an industry where i speak to a lot of people and hear a lot of rumours... and most of the time, they turn out to be true... I have heard that the pre-commiting tenant has fallen through and this has stalled development... My view of a stalling development is a bit like a cars engine cuttin...

aerial shot of site, taken from roof of Chesser House... pretty shitty - but i took it a while back and wasn't particularly focused on Harris Scarfe (or anything in particular!)

I wonder if this development could be modified to take in the three buildings on Gawler Place that have been up for sale for ages now: Laubman & Pank, Allans Music & Gritti Palace... Someone please reassure me that Laubman and Pank on Gawler is nothing to do with this - From the rest of the...

Re: News from the ACC
Further to the bin issue, they are made of stainless steel in Germany, not see-through perspex. Who wants to see the inside of a bin at a major tourist destination/through-point? Continuing on the issue of the ACC's loss of power- I wonder why the four of the five independent panellists on the Deve...

Re: 20 Year Old Trams For Adelaide??
Why dont they just purchase the tram-trains now, in addition to the 4 new flexitys? $$$. It's all about the money. I know they've allocated $2b for the network upgrades, but thats over 10 years. They actually don't have the $2b now, they've allocated what they can this year, they'll allocate what t...

Re: ACC Stripped of Powers!
Development needs to happen in every city, but once you open yourself up to the whims of international developers you can end up with an ugly city. What the f***? One of the extremely possimistic things about shifting powers to the DAC is that international developers will be far more encou...

[VIS] Re: 33 Pirie Street - Concept
It was actually built in two stages, I dont have the dates handy, but I think the U shaped section was built originally in the 20's and then a T shaped section was built in the 60's. There are voids in the construction to allow for natural light. Whilst there are so many other buildings in the city ...

[VIS] Re: 33 Pirie Street - Concept
I have been throughout the building. It is what you would expect from something of this vintage, it is lots of smaller rooms with a strong variety of different tenants. It is serviced by two elevators and has the necessary stairs, I certainly wouldn't have viewed it as a fire trap... It also has a j...

Will, reeeelax!!! I wasn't suggesting that anything you said was misinformed. I was suggesting that you jumped down my throat and assumed that I was misinformed and didn't know what i was talking about. It is MY OPINION that this building is architecturally plain past the frontage and the first coup...

I couldn't agree more Omicron, but unfortunately developers will get away with what the council will let them. My problem with the opposition of, lets call it the "refreshing" of these heritage buildings, is that is doesn't take into account how poorly a lot of them are being treated now. ...
