[COM] Re: U/C: New Royal Adelaide Hospital | News & Construction o
The state is relying on unrealistic growth forecasts and overly optimistic gst allocations. We are going to hit a $1b deficit forecast and I'm saying now its going to be worse than that. The hospital will be the last major state project for a while. Massive structural and financial changes need to b...

[COM] Re: U/C: New Royal Adelaide Hospital | News & Construction o
This is a simplistic way of looking at it; to think that it's justified to spend unlimited amounts of government $$'s (= your money) on something just because it's for a cause that most people agree is a good one, is a dangerous policy. All public expenditure should be carefully scrutinized and wei...

The hospital is going to be great. But really the cost of this is freakig huge and will leave a sour financial legacy for many a year.

And an interesting point is that Westfield posted a great profit result last year... But the fine print read that sales DECREASED in their malls last FY. Unsustainable in high turnover, low margin centers like westfield

[PRO] Re: #ONH: Westfield Marion Expansion | $280m | 150,000sqm
Non of these westfield expansions are going to occur in the current retail environment. As I have said before, Westfield locks most of its tenants into 5-10 year contracts, 5% increases yearly. Westfields rents are HUGE. Factor in increasing wages, the increase to super (from 9 to 12% with now no cu...

Re: New Retail in the CBD
We often hear on these forums how the flagship Rundle Mall Myer department store is 'struggling' and 'making a loss'. Here is the truth. Hopefully we can put these negative rumours to rest just like those that say 'Rundle Mall is dying'. From the Advertiser: Myer hails Adelaide stores as perfect sa...

Re: CBD Development: General
I have heard that some of the owners were made aware that the company had been approached by developers. HQ has a number of different owners apparently. I would imagine that the new market would be retained as a pub. Also note that there is a 8-10 storey building just down the road (ipad or something)

Have heard a credible rumour (maybe its been reported), that the HQ owners are in talks to sell their site to developers (hotel presumeably because of the new hospital?)

Re: New Retail in the CBD
The site that everyone thought MIGHT be apple.....is for lease. Looks like they bit the bullet and redeveloped without a signed tenant.
Ouch.
Also I have heard strong rumours that the Myer centre and Myer itself is losing HUGE amounts of money. Wheres the end game for this centre?

Re: Chadstone getting BIGGER
Sickening. It also shows the ridiculous amount of money these centres make. Hows the profit margins and retail sales growth going in Australia. Keeping up with those 5% factored in rental increases. lol.

Re: News: Adelaide City Council
Another day another preacher filled mall. Sales drop by thousands around the sites of these protests. I know acc staff read and post here. Forget about talking about pretty sustainable offices and special trees and do something about this. As I have said before you are pissing all your hard work bui...

Re: New Retail in the CBD
lol at Mr shahin. We will have KK now our lives are complete! For mine I would rather a competitive service station market in adelaide, instead of the monopoly which we now have. How the takeover of all the Mobil sites this year was approved ill never know?
