Yeah it's amazing how much we're dependent on electricity. We had a similar experience during a blackout in the CBD... basically sat there at our chairs wondering what to do.

Aren't 7/11s actually supposed to be open from 7am to 11pm hence the name? They're not actually open 24/7 like those other convenience stores. I think 24/7 stores are great - they give a sense of being in a city not a small town.

What a looney decision. This reminds me of a complaint someone made about the big Ikea sign because it blocked their view of the hills!
