Pandas coming to Adelaide!

I love pandas and I reckon this is great news!! I can't believe we're going to have pandas for ten years! This will be great for interstate tourism too. Panda breeding coup Article from: The Advertiser KIM WHEATLEY, CHIEF REPORTER September 06, 2007 06:30am EXCLUSIVE: ADELAIDE Zoo will become home t...

[COM] Re: #COMPLETE : CC1 (ANZ) - 84.5m (99m to spire)

Yeah it's amazing how much we're dependent on electricity. We had a similar experience during a blackout in the CBD... basically sat there at our chairs wondering what to do. :D

A big water feature (much bigger than the fountain) would be great but I think it's got fat chance of getting through with current water restrictions.

Re: SA Now In Recession: ANZ Bank

Furthermore the comments supporting the ANZ report from members of the public could also be attributed to Liberal sympathisers. The ANZ does support the liberals more than they support labour (at least in 2004). Link 1. and Link 2. It's not to say they released this report specifically to bag a Lab...

[COM] Re: What next for Victoria Square?

Anyone thought of an iconic building? Somewhere in the centre or just south of it. Something similar to the glass pyramid at the Louvre in Paris. It would have to be accessed by the public as well, not something like the metallic slung just seen. Could it be in honour of SA's aborigines? Thoughts? ...

Yes we do.... I think the bean was modeled off our balls but they screwed up and melted it in the manufacturing process. It's nicer than the fountain in Vic square don't you think?

[COM] Re: What next for Victoria Square?

If anyone's seen or heard of Cloudgate AKA "the bean" in Chicago's Millennium Park, I would suggest that we need something along these lines to attach people to the square. People need a reason to visit the place and once you have a nice attraction then it brings in the people and the shop...

Re: SA Now In Recession: ANZ Bank

I don't get it... how does the ANZ reconcile their point of view with the article below (posted by Will on another thread)? I don't know about the facts and figures but just looking around town and seeing all the activity, I'm surprised we're in a recession. Personally, I think some economists are f...

Re: Stores adelaide is missing

You're correct in saying that most of the time, you'd have your car but there's been many occasions where I just wanted to pick up some nuts and bolts or sandpaper... that sort of thing. I don't why there can't be a mitre 10 or bunnings type of store south of Vic square. There's plenty of space that...

Re: Stores adelaide is missing

Apparently JB Hifi is looking for a suitable location in the city to expand their current store. This will mean they will stock all the other goodies that the other JB stores have in the burbs. The problem was that they couldn't locate a big enough place so there's talk to actually having two stores...

Re: #Article: 65,000 people for city centre

Aren't 7/11s actually supposed to be open from 7am to 11pm hence the name? They're not actually open 24/7 like those other convenience stores. I think 24/7 stores are great - they give a sense of being in a city not a small town.

Re: #Article : Residents win right to keep sea view (precedent c

What a looney decision. This reminds me of a complaint someone made about the big Ikea sign because it blocked their view of the hills! I can imagine people filing complaints against any tall construction because it blocks their view of the sky. I agree, the developers should appeal to a higher court.

Re: SA Wins Monopoly!

Yeah I saw something on the street boards declaring the 'great monopoly hoax'. Looks like the piece of shit paper we call the Advertiser can't help but cut SA down at every opportunity. Talk about supporting your own state. I hope the person who wrote this article gets a huge kick up the ass (to put...
