Anyone know if Station Lane [where the white lines are] will be open to taxis/valet/cars etc or for Pedestrian use only? Also if there will be a entrance from North Tce to the new carpark?

Which makes sense as the former building plan included residential apartments while this building is now a 347 room hotel vs previous 40-storey 240-room hotel & 72 apartments over 13 floors.

I would expect the images/renders will be used for the marketing of the hotel until it’s built and possibly also after that. So maybe they don’t want to show the Sofitel (and inadvertently promote) their direct competition?

Has anyone seen the plans as I am curious if there is car parking and/or a drop off/pick up area for taxis/buses/vehicles ie a Porte cochere?

Well you could vote labour which has signed to return it in 2022 if voted in. It will be interesting to see The Bends attendance for next year with no Adelaide race. Regardless all the other sport infrastructure announced will be built which is good. Hopefully there will be a new stadium announced i...

I am just curious why they wouldn't have just continued the tunnel in the middle as its only some 2-3kms? They could have joined stages 1&2 by tunnel to save a lot of above ground disruption to traffic while its being built (as well as property resumptions etc).

[COM] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade
Renders look good & the strategy appears sound but the outcome could be like putting lipstick on a pig plus a 6,000 or so crowd is meh. A band-aid fix until a new venue/stadium is built... which could be 10-20 years at this rate.

I thought the Fed Govt already committed $5bn to this?
So the final outcome is $8.9bn for 6kms of tunnels & 4.5kms of lowered motorways & 2030 to finish it?

I have this feeling that no matter how many glossy renders they put out, this whole re-development will end up looking nothing like the images portrayed.

I am surprised they have just painted it all white. Considering also it is heritage listed, I would have thought they would have been required to re-point it and highlight the original bluestone etc.

Can you just elaborate what you mean/understand how a road can make a profit? Do you mean a cost/benefit analysis? I am curious do you know how they value/ monetise the economic benefits?

Yes and that 10m a day is doing the lining/building the tunnel at the same time and is based on the hydrogeology and geology for the tunnel [rock etc] for the Metro tunnel in Melbourne. A good read on TBMs is- https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/en ... ng-machine
