[PRO] Re: Grange-Holbrooks-East Ave Dog Leg
Now this is the sort of intersection upgrade I can get behind on! Doglegs should be the focus to improve traffic flow.
Not silly ones like the SDBD/Marion Road and Magill/Portrush Road ones which are an absolute waste of money.

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development
It's a bit risky. I'm all for Council wanting to be proactive to increase the population in the city. But it has to be affordable. People will not buy apartments or rent them otherwise. There's no point in redeveloping sites if the average apartment is going to be $500k. If they're like $300k (3-4x ...

Poor call by SCAP. The developers should opt for a review. Although, on a technicality it does exceed the height limit by 4m (even allowing for the 'bonus height' provision). They could compromise and cut a floor off the top to swing it in their favour.

[CAN] Re: 207 Pulteney Street | 180m | 55 Levels | Mixed Use
To be honest it was always going to be a big ask to fill 70,000 sqm of space in Adelaide. Good market conditions or not. Especially in this location which isn't exactly central to public transport and retail services.

If that's the case I certainly would prefer a high school here than apartments.

Unfortunately I don't have high hopes for this one. If Park Royal at Kent Town can't get off the ground, which I argue is probably the prime site of all inner city parklands adjacent sites closest to the city - what hope is there that this one will?

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Should be rail trench from just before Parafield to just after Park Terrace. And connect Frost Road to Spains Road providing a new east-west connection thus taking pressure off of Park Terrace and Kings Road. Whilst a rail trench that distance would be the most costly option, if one were going to g...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Thanks for sharing that information. I've already provided some feedback. Cormack Road and Kings Road can both be removed without the need for a shut-down of either the rail line or road as a new road bridge can be built to the north of the existing level crossings. I suggested realigning Cormack Ro...

Re: #Official Defence Thread
Adelaide grew by 20,000+ people in the last year - our fastest growth in a couple of decades. Hardly slow growing. The trend is only going upwards particularly with the 2 million plus migrants to come in the next 5 years. I wouldn't be too concerned about 1000 people leaving.

That's probably one of the best inner-city views (from the SW) of the city skyline.

Re: SA Economy
Well, you do so by incentivising businesses to establish a new industry or expand their operations and the associated workforce to support it. I'm just riffing off the top of my head here but aquaculture is a growing one in the region, so new factories for the processing and distribution of aquacult...

Re: SA Economy
Monarto and the Multi Function Polis both failed. What makes you think third time lucky will be the answer? I would really like to see more focus on the South Coast region (Victor Harbor, Port Elliot, Middleton, Goolwa) into South Australia's second major urban centre with a population of 100,000+. ...
