[COM] Re: PRO: SkyCity Adelaide Casino Expansion | $300m

time frame shouldnt be too concerning, so long as it gets started in the first place! have they released any updated renders or is it all still up in the air?

^^^ would be fantastic if they could get 40,000 or more for that fixture.

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

I'm disappointed to hear that it's been amended and particularly that the power station is staying. That thing is a rundown eyesore and probably the most depressing part of this whole area. Let's hope they at least budget for some walls to hide the thing.

[COM] Re: PRO: SkyCity Adelaide Casino Expansion | $300m

To save myself from reading page upon page to catch up with this development, what is actually happening with it? Obviously parts of the casino are currently closed off for upgrades but what do these entail? Is the fancy development with the huge glass facade still taking place or is it a scaled dow...

Re: Smoke-free CBD?

So long as they don't ban e-cigarettes it doesn't bother me :) Makes you wonder who is behind the attempt to ban e-cigs. Governments thats who. E-Cigs are something that they currently cannot tax/havent worked out how to tax. WA Gov Co. are using the very poor excuse of something that looks like a ...

[COM] Re: COM: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment

nope, I agree, its been almost three months since the oval opened. the landscaping should have been done now, assuming that's all it is. it could be more involved than that.

Re: Footbrawl (pointless arguments about the AFL)

Rev, you're obviously passionate and know your Port Adelaide history and i'm more than happy to go "toe to toe" even if it's for a bit of fun and amusement. However, you ruined it for me when you started making assumptions about what kind of person I am, my age and my level of intelligence...

Re: Footbrawl (pointless arguments about the AFL)

That's a great post and all rev, but where were those words in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012? You said it yourself, 40,000 members ditched their memberships. Now, last time I looked, turning your back on a club that you're so "passionate" about when they are performing poorly, and rejoin...

Re: please suggest a title... (AFL something something)

Port on top the AFL ladder, winning games, selling out match after match. FIFTY TWO THOUSAND MEMBERS!!!oneone11111! (24 thousand of which are comprised of three game or less memberships) . Port supporters preaching gospel as if its been the case since day dot. Now every man and his dog, tom, dick an...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

As above ^^ Could not come soon enough. I was concerned about how dangerous the section of the road is between Torrens and Port Road, especially after the young truck driver from Regency lost his life when he crashed into the stobie pole not that long ago. Or when a powerline was brought down by a ...

[U/C] Re: News & Discussion: South Road / North-South Corridor

^^ you obviously dont drive torrens to torrens then? I use both Darlington and t2t at different times of the week, but always in peak hour. With the extra heavy vehicle traffic and the horrid state of south road between t2t, it HAS to happen NOW. Funding is always about compromise, especially when n...

[COM] Re: COM: Adelaide Oval Redevelopment

sounds like another media bash-up to me. If either club expected the costs of hosting at this ground to be the same as at Football Park, their heads are in the clouds.

[COM] Re: COM: South Road Superway | $842m | 3km

i read a good article a few years ago about a US politician who had red-light and speed cameras outlawed in Georgia because they were found to do nothing to increase road safety. Here's an idea...increase the length of the yellow light by 1 second and watch the accident rate fall. this also somewhat...

[COM] Re: COM: South Road Superway | $842m | 3km

^^ Being a deterrent for speeding and improving road safety do not always go hand in hand. in fact most of the time they dont. If the speed limit set is the appropriate one for the conditions, they generally do. Do you think most of our speed limits are inappropriate? Yes, I do. There's no need for...
