The race actually makes a profit too, unlike the f1 for Melbourne (or when it used to be in Adelaide for that matter). That is part of why it is so successful.

Re: 2007 Clipsal 500 Launched.

The 2007 event could be bigger then the melbourne GP - wouldn't that be FANTASTIC !!! Good reason why Formula One should be back in Adelaide. Cheers If not f1 A1 at least... eastern creek is crap in comparisson to the Adelaide track. Plus it would be nice if they raced on the proper F1 track, not t...

Re: no gold coast

The sunsets at 2pm in the afternoon. We dont want that here....... There'd have to be some bloody tall buildings on the Yorke Peninsula for that to happen in Glenelg. haha yeah that is a good point, no overshadowing issues for Adelaide beaches in the afternoon (and who goes to the beach early morni...

[DEF] Re: AAMI Stadium

The northern stand only cost 12.5 million !! The fact that a whole stand cost 12.5 mill is an indication of how cheap the stadium is... if you want a proper stadium you have to put down the money, and with interest rates as low as they are, especially for a AAA rating government, there should be no...

[DEF] Re: AAMI Stadium

In regard to what's happening in Perth, they're still debating whether they should build a new stadium or upgrade subiaco. Here in adelaide we are in a much better situation than what they are. Unlike Subiaco, AAMI stadium has been designed so that further expansion can be accommodated easily. Alth...

The developments have been good... but it could have been a lot better...

Holdfast shores, the Marina etc will all date very quickly, it is unfortunate that a higher standard of construction/design, better utilising the beach front wasn't employed.

The Hungry Jacks carpark was built between 1975-77 and it was designed by Hassell. Academically the carpark is a superb example of functionalist architecture and it reflects engineering innovation. The carpark is so superb that it was awarded an award of merit from the Royal Australian Institute of...
