[COM] Re: #PRO - Health and Medical Research Institute (HMRI) - $2
Oh man, I am sick of hearing things like "dishonoured Colonel William Light’s vision to keep the city’s green belt as dedicated open space". Who cares about one man's vision 170 years ago? Surely of all the arguments one way or another that is the least relevant of all! There are many legi...

Re: #PRO: Port Adelaide Tram | #COM: Entertainment Centre Tr
iTouchmyself believes that if the Port Adelaide Tram is completed, they will make a connection between Port Adelaide and Glenelg going through West Beach, Henley etc. No chance iTouchmyself also has a feeling that it'll be extended to Adelaide Oval More chance of happening than your first suggestio...

Anyone know what is the next stage of Adelaide's tram expansion? And what is the timeframe?

[COM] Re: Adelaide Convention Centre and Riverbank Redevelopment
The proposal looks quite nice in the video but as a fan of our current Convention Centre (the bit with the massive glass windows overlooking the Torrens I am a little worried that any addition to that will ruin the awesomness of that existing building. Maybe I'm overrating that building but I really...

[COM] Re: Adelaide Convention Centre and Riverbank Redevelopment
Interesting idea - the tram being part of the pedestrian bridge may work. I think there really needs to be a transport link to the stadium [and ideally from the train station] - just how do you do it? Imagine 10,000-20,000 people trying to get on a handful of trams taking people into the city. I re...

Re: Oh Adelaide, we hardly knew ye!
Glenelg has so much that's good about it, and we love the new plaza at Mosely Square, but the signs along the street - "Pedestrians give way to vehicles" - makes my blood boil. Yeah it's ridiculous. Especially as Jetty Road is hardly a necessary thoroughfare. People only drive down it to ...

Re: Adelaide United Thread
The future is looking rosey for Adelaide United (as long as this guy is involved!) I disagree. It all seems to be dependent upon him make money from AUFC. That's not going to happen. And when it doesn't he'll abandon the team just as quickly as the last owner. The A-League needs owners that love th...

Re: New Retail in the CBD
In the next few months we are getting Diesel (location TBC) Are you serious? Where has this information come from? I would be over the moon if this is true but I find it hard to believe. If it does happen then it looks like G-Star has some competition for my dollars! uhhh we could really do without...

Re: Adelaide has to build a NEW stadium for 2018/2022 World Cup
The last statement in the story is pretty much where i stand on this i don't really see why any other sport should heap the benefit of a new or refurbished stadium in the city (or anywhere) if football pretty much did all the work to acquire it. That's a fair comment I think. So why then do you kee...

Re: The cars that ate Adelaide
$7 all day parking is cheaper than regular day-trip on Public Transport, which is $8.30. Car-parking should cost at least double, if not triple the rate of a day-trip ticket. I know there is probably a good reason against it but I think it would be a good idea to make public transport free or at th...

Cars aren't the cause of Adelaides traffic congestion, trams are.jk1237 wrote:I fail to see how encouraging more and more cars to the CBD is a good thing, as it will create more and more traffic congestion.

Re: #VIS: Riverside (Entertainment Precinct)
http://www.martin2010.com.au/ RIP vision. I said it before - what the libs need is an everybody else change not a leadership change. MHS was their only member with vision. The rest of them just bicker among themselves to the point where I think they should just split the party and be done with it. ...

Re: Adelaide has to build a NEW stadium for 2018/2022 World Cup
I’d say they’d be a better chance of 2022 I can’t really see USA getting it straight after Brazil although they are different confederations I think FIFA wouldn’t want to be seen catering to one area of the globe Agreed. Likewise with us, after 2010 and 2014 both being in in the Southern Hemisphere...

Re: Adelaide has to build a NEW stadium for 2018/2022 World Cup
I think that the fact that our Prime Minister makes this much effort to get the World Cup must mean something to FIFA I can’t really see Obama making time for that (maybe because he’s got better things to do) but I think that as a country from other countries point of view we appear to be completel...

Re: Adelaide has to build a NEW stadium for 2018/2022 World Cup
Tyler, could the AFL perhaps take a break for a month or play at venues such as Optus Oval or (when soccer matches aren't being played there) TD? It's not like they fill the MCG to the 100, 000 capacity every weekend. I'm sure that for the 4 or so out of the 26 weeks plus the however many weeks of ...
