[COM] Re: #PRO: New Royal Adelaide Hospital | $1.7b
Amused - It's good to finally see some sensible arguments in favour of moving the RAH, as most supporters seem to be quite happy for the public to be kept in the dark. But I'm still opposed. The main reason for my opposition is the location - not only is it the perfect location for a future soccer ...

[COM] Re: #PRO: New Royal Adelaide Hospital | $1.7b
From a health perspective, All I've got is it has to be city central as it's the central recieving hospital in the tertiary hospital spine. LMC-RAH-Flinders. It can't be built on same site without completely closing all services to bulldose. As for why it needs to be where it will be? I can't think ...

Alright, I'll tap in again here. As an existing health care professional, I have been around ward redevelopmets on a number of occasions. The disruption they cause to services and to rehabilition can not go unrecognised. The sound of a single drill in a concrete wall reverberates loudly up and down ...

Re: #PRO: City Busway - O-Bahn to West Tce
It does indeed appear that physical changes are minimal. The only real additions I see are some extra left turn lanes at intersections. I find it laughable that buses will have to merge with traffic and then re-enter the buslane for the sole reason of not removing he pedestrian way outcrops. To remo...

Re: Affordable housing in the city
It'd want to look a lot better than it does in the photos. It looks like they've jammed a tin farming implement shed on top of the building.

Why single rooms/suites? Cross infection is the first thing, and this tends to happen with single room facilities as well. Each room having its own bathroom however will go a long way to cut down on the potential for cross infection as the existing quota is about 8 patients to a toilet. Single rooms...

I'm really liking the use of robots within the proposed hospital. I'm assuming the robots will be similar if not the same as those employed in the recently opened Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Scotland. Having seen how many pharmacy assistants it takes to sort and package meds in the hospitals and ...

I'm thinking a tunnel may be more appropriate if speed was important. If as previously suggested regency to Gallipoli underpass was just to be a non-stop 60kph zone then it's probably not as important but a tunnel will help straighten some of the major curves in the current south rd without need for...

As always, remember to keep the weather in mind when going. Make sure you're prepared for the elements, particularly heat. Cover up as much as possible including sunscreen. If you forget sunscreen then St John usually has some for a gold coin donation at their treatment center. Drink plenty of water...

The building itself looks nice, but it's difficult to see how well it sits within the surrounds as everything around it is WHITE. Didn't really have the time or interest to try and photoshop in the building itself but the loose landscape of the 10 second mark of the video is attached. I think the b...

Re: Adelaide Airport & Airline News
Welcome to the board Amused. So you start off with a comment that on the face of it is a little odd. After all, plenty of airports round the world have rail lines, so a position that this is not going to work in Adelaide is a little counterintuitive. You get a few bites, as one would expect from a ...

Re: Adelaide Airport & Airline News
Interesting conclusion to draw. I've traveled a lot, locally and overseas. Certain members of my family travel at least once a month via air. What that has to do with anything bewilders me. so do you go down and see your family off every single time they travel? Just about but again, irrelevant. Fi...

Airport transport access (split from news thread)
The Government should also be thinking of a tram route out to the Airport. Should go down Sir Donald Bradman Drive and then through city up the Parade to Norwood. I initially thought this too but then thought about the logistics of moving passengers and luggage to the airport. Also, one would have ...
