Re: Riverlea (Buckland Park) | 12,000 dwellings | $3b

So genuine question. But the $90m earmarked for Port dock extension (yes I'm against it, it's pork barrelling at its finest and with no real business case for it, alternatives should be assesed) Surely that money would be better spend trying to get rail to this development and the surrounding areas...

One proposes to create more debt, and if Labors plan is popular they'll expand it creating bigger debt, the other proposes that you screw your self out of a retirement.
Government debt is not the same as household debt

Re: Riverlea (Buckland Park) | 12,000 dwellings | $3b

there was a power outage Thursday afternoon affecting most of Two Wells/Virginia.. And the new traffic lights were out. There's going to be multiple fatalities at that intersection before they build an overpass.

Which gates? Park Terrace I think. I recall it being somewhere in Salisbury, and I didn't intend to go near so did no directly effect me. Yes, there has been a few issues with the ARTC and GREP interfacing that I am aware of with Park tce and Kings road immediately coming to mind. Anderson walk LX ...

Re: #Official Defence Thread

Theyre not going to build conventional subs while building nuclear powered subs. The Collins class are one of the best defence assets that Australia has. You can’t have a period of about 10 years where we don’t have any submarines. Assuming that the nuclear subs enter service in say 2042 and the Co...

Re: News & Discussion: Roads & Traffic

$120 million does seem a little off. The Bald Hills Road Interchange at Nairne cost $22.6 million back in 2015. I'd imagine the work required at Majors Rd would be similar to Bald Hills Road, so I can't quite see where $120 million would go. I would have thought $40 million would be in the rough ba...

"Brother", they're building a maintenance & modification facility for the Poseidons and Wedgetails, and other high tech surveillance aircraft at Edinburgh. It has nothing to do with the flooding. No 1 Squadron is based at Amberley. Its made up of Super Hornets. No 6 squadron with the ...

Re: #Official Defence Thread

I'm no defence expert, but I think it is normal for the first 1 or 2 units to be built overseas to train the Australian-based laborers, after which production moves to Australia for the rest of the fleet. I am not aware of any defence programs where this has occurred, it’s much easier to build an e...

[COM] Re: Main North Road/Nottage Terrace Intersection Upgrade

something that would alleviate traffic on that stretch of road would be putting clearways infront of all the car yards along main north road. If you head city bound there's usually half a dozen car carriers blocking the left lane

I am not sure if its just coincidence, but every time I have driven on the newer concrete section between St Kilda and Bolivar etc when its raining, the speed limit is reduced to 60. Is there a reason for this? If its because the road is slippery when it rains, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpo...

They'd better be leaving a reserve for a train line...
When Port Wakefield road is eventually built into a freeway it should have a rail line down the middle just like Perth's Joondalup line
